The Broncos had chances early in the Chiefs game to snap their 11 game losing streak but too many mistakes in the 2nd half sunk Denver's chances as they fell to Kansas City 22-9. Recap of the game is below:

The Broncos won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball to start the game.

Javonte Williams broke a couple tackles to gain nine yards on first down but the drive stalled as Teddy Bridgewater was sacked on 3rd and 2 by Melvin Ingram, forcing a Broncos 3-and-out to open the game.

After a Sam Martin punt, the Chiefs began their first drive of the game from their own 28 yard line. Efficiently, the Chiefs move the ball down the field on a 12-play drive that was capped off by a 10 yard rushing TD from Patrick Mahomes, giving the Chiefs an early 7-0 lead.

The Broncos began their 2nd offensive drive at their own 25 yard line but unfortunately, the results were the same as the Denver offense only mustered 1-yard and punted after another 3-and-out.

The Chiefs offense started their 2nd offensive drive at their own 21 yard line. Mahomes connected with Edwards-Helaire on a perfectly called 29 yard screen pass but later in the drive, when the Chiefs tried to set up another screen, Jonathon Cooper was there for a 9 yard loss. The Chiefs were forced to settle for a 56-yard FG attempt and after it bounced off the upright, it slipped over the crossbar to give Kansas City a 10-0 lead.

The Denver offense started their 3rd drive at their own 25 and this time the offense found some rhythm following a 36-yard catch and run from Jerry Jeudy. Javonte Williams carried several defenders for a 15 yard run and Teddy Bridgewater scrambled for 9 yards to convert a 3rd and 8. Back-to-back penalties backed the Broncos out of the Red Zone and they settled for a Brandon McManus 42-yard FG, pulling Denver within a score as Kansas City remained in the lead 10-3.

Kansas City was unable to score on their 3rd drive, as the Broncos defense forced a punt after just 4 plays.

The Broncos put together their longest drive of the season, 20 plays, 88 yards and 11:07 off the clock as they drove all the way down to the Chiefs 7 yard line. It was an impressive drive including two 4th down conversions that spanned the majority of the 2nd quarter but resulted with no points.

Chiefs go 3-and-out and, after a punt to Spencer, Broncos take it to halftime trailing 10-3.

Kansas City got the ball out of halftime and, once again, seemed to efficiently move the ball down the field against the Broncos defense that didn't have many answers for the quick game but a tipped incompletion to Tyreek Hill gave the Denver defense the break they were looking for as Pat Surtain intercepted Patrick Mahomes to set the Broncos offense up at their own 21 yard line.

Unfortunately, the Broncos offense wasn't able to do much with the new shift in momentum as they went 3-and-out and punted the ball back to Mahomes and the KC offense.

Starting from their own 24, the Chiefs had no problem moving the ball, including a 38 yard catch and run down the right sideline on scramble play from Mahomes to Darrell Williams. The Denver defense was able to lock things down just outside the Red Zone, forcing the Chiefs to settle for a 45 yard FG from Harrison Butker, extending the Kansas City lead 13-3.

The Broncos desperately needed a touchdown and, after a couple of first downs, Teddy Bridgewater threw a crippling interception to Juan Thornhill that set up Kansas City at their own 33 yard line following a crack back block.

The Denver defense kept them in it, forcing a Chiefs 3-and-out but Dionate Spencer fumbled the punt return after Caden Sterns ran into him. Kansas City offense given new life at the Denver 16 yard line. The Broncos defense were able to get the Chiefs off the field after 3 plays and a 26-yard FG.

Once again, the Broncos offense was desperate to get a touchdown moved the ball down the field to the Kansas City 27 yard line but were faced with another critical 4th down. The nail in the coffin came as the ball was deflected and Daniel Sorenson took an interception to the house. The Chiefs took a 22-3 lead with 9:42 remaining in the game.

The Broncos finally got a touchdown, capping off an 11-play 75 yard drive with a 13-yard catch and run from Javonte Williams to pull within 13...Chiefs now lead 22-9.

Denver would get the ball back one more time but were unable to change the outcome or score as Kansas City beat the Broncos 22-9.

The Denver Broncos next game will be at home as they host the Detroit Lions on December 12th, coverage on KOA begins at 8am MTN.

Postgame interviews below are with voice of the Broncos Dave Logan and Vic Fangio and Teddy Bridgewater.
