Every Broncos training camp practice before Wednesday's was about keeping score between Quarterbacks Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater as they battle for the starting job. However, Wednesday's fully padded practice was scored as a whole, against the previous 14 practices, and it was easily ranked the worst.
There was little to no emotion, no real flash plays, and more dropped passes in one day, than seemingly all of camp combined.
Head Coach Vic Fangio acknowledged it the practice may have been a little flat, "Yeah, it might have been," he said. "We have to focus. We come back and get ready to do a normal training camp type practice. We have to get locked in better. We have to catch the ball; we have to throw it better—all that.”
As for the QB battle itself, Bridgewater had a hard time finding any consistency, and Lock did move the ball better a little more consistently.
Fangio did break some news, one piece as it related to the team on the field, and one as it relates to the team, and it's best player, off the field.
It looks like we'll see a fair amount of starters play Saturday in Seattle, "We’re going to play a lot of the guys this week based on health," Fangio said.
And, it appears that linebacker Von Miller's first child, a son named Valor was born Tuesday night, "He’ll be back tomorrow. His baby was born late last night."
Wednesday is a big day for the Broncos Organization's Training Camp calendar as it's Alzeheimer's Awareness Day. After both Pat Bowlen and his wife Annabel were both diagnosed with the disease, the organization has made it a point to focus a fair amount of their charitable efforts to raising awareness and money to combat Alzheimer's. Fans are encouraged to wear purple, to show support for the battle.
