Governor Jared Polis has issued an executive order creating Colorado's 42nd state park. Fishers Peal State Park will cover 19,000 acres of land near Trinidad, Colorado. The new park will be adjacent to an existing state park just across the border in New Mexico. The park is set to open in 2021. Conservation and wildlife groups have been working to preserve the area for the past 6 years. Known as the Crazy French Ranch, the area has long been closed to the public.
