Hancock Proposes $1.49 Billion 2020 Budget

Mayor Hancock says it will take $1.49 billion to run Denver next year. His spending plan makes housing, climate change, transportation and safety top priorities for the city. The Mayor also says Denver needs to prepare for an economic downturn. His budget has a 15-percent cash reserve.

Among budget highlights are the following:

$97 million for housing, including $71.3 million for a new Department of Housing Stability.

$40 million for battling climate change, including a new office of Climate Action,Sustainability and Resiliency.

$118 million for a build out of Denver's multi-modal transportation system, including $48 million in in mobility and transportation infrastructure investments
