26 Year old Elliott Hayden Bond was sentenced to five years in Community Corrections for the vehicular homicide death of 15-year-old Andrew Potter in Westminster on August 31, 2018. Police say Bond was driving Southbound on Wadsworth Parkway when he struck Potter who was crossing against the light at Church Ranch. Bond didn't stop and help Potter or call police. He continued to drive South on Wadsworth Parkway until police stopped him as he turned at Independence. DA Pete Weir said he's very disappointed in the outcome of the case. Weir said Bond could have been sentenced to 24 years in prison. Prosecutors asked for 12 years, instead Bond was given a sentence to community corrections.
