Uber has agreed to pay tens of millions of dollars and will take steps to tighten data security. Colorado will get part of the $148 million settlement that Uber has agreed to pay all 50 states and the District of Columbia. It took Uber a year to tell drivers that hackers had stolen their personal information in 2016. State Attorneys General found Uber paid hackers in exchange for the hacker's silence. Uber says it will now make data security a key part of its technology.
