Solar System at Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is now partially 'off-the-grid'. A solar array at the park came online last month, providing nearly all of the power needed for the Trail Ridge Store at 11,798 feet.  The 150 solar panels will produce 56 kilowatts of power. Xanterra Travel Collection is the largest national park concessionaire in the U.S. and had the solar array installed. The solar system is designed to withstand bitter cold and snowdrifts up to 25 feet.
