Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is pushing forward on a plan to double the city's affordable housing fund. He signed a pair of ordinances into law yesterday. Those will raise the fund from 15-million-dollars a year to 30-million-dollars. In part, the additional money will be coming from an increase in the city's retail marijuana tax. Additionally, there will be a partnership formed with the Denver Housing Authority. The aim of the ordinances is to enable the city to build or preserve six-thousand affordable homes over the next five years.
