Father Faces 9 Counts in Triple Murder

Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke has filed a total of 9 counts against Christopher Watts (33) who is accused of murdering his wife and two young daughters. The charges are as follows:

3 counts of first degree murder after deliberation in the deaths of Shanann Watts (34) and daughters Bella (4) and Celeste (3).

2 counts of first degree murder of victims under age 12 by a person in position of trust.

1 count of unlawful termination of a pregnancy

3 counts of tampering with a deceased body.

Watts will be formally advised of the charges at a hearing in Weld County set for 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Shanann's father, Frank Rzucek , spoke briefly at a press conference. He thanked police and law enforcement and also thanked the community for holding a vigil outside his daughter's home.  He urged people to keep praying for the family.
