Adams County is joining law enforcement from around the country and allowing people to text 9-1-1 during an emergency. Law enforcement operations manager Betty Hernandez says it's for people who are in a situation where it would be dangerous to speak out loud, or if they are hearing impaired and cannot speak. Hernandez says if you are able to make a voice call you should still make a standard 9-1-1 call because it's easier for the 9-1-1 dispatcher to get the information they need.
