Four cold case murders from Aurora and Lakewood may have been solved. A DNA match has been made to Nevada prisoner Alex Christopher Ewing. Ewing is now accused of using a hammer to kill Bruce, Debra, and Melissa Bennett in their Aurora home in January 1984 and Patricia Smith in Lakewood a few days before killing the Bennett's. The Bennett family's youngest daughter survived the attack but she suffered permanent injuries.
Ewing is serving prison time in Nevada for an ax-handle attack outside of Las Vegas.
