A man who survived a fall of about 400-feet in the Brainard Lake Recreational Area is recovering from serious injuries. Officials say the accident happened yesterday afternoon as the man was climbing near Isabelle Glacier Lake. Rescue efforts were delayed because of poor weather conditions, but he was eventually lifted out of the area by a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter. The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says he has injuries to his head, ribs and shoulder.
