Colorado U.S. Senator Cory Gardner (R) has returned home after making a visit to Afghanistan. Gardner says he met with Fort Carson-based soldiers and also toured Bagram Air Force Base where he met with American pilots who are training Afghan pilots. Gardner also got a briefing from Ambassador John Bass about the upcoming Afghanistan elections. Embassy staff also briefed him on security and economic issues in the country.
