Much of the Eastern Plains under a red flag warning

Cal Fire Conducts Controlled Burn In Sonoma Valley

Firefighters won't take any chances with even the smallest grass fire.  Much of the Eastern plains of Colorado are under a red flag warning.  South Metro Fire's Eric Hurst says strong winds, warm temperatures and low humidity are a dangerous combination.  He says any fire that breaks out will get triple the resources.  He says even simple things like mowing your lawn or throwing a cigarette butt out the window could start a fire.
