The biggest fast-food chain in the Philippines is buying a majority interest in Smashburger. Jollibee Foods says it will pay 100-million-dollars to purchase another 45-percent share in Smashburger's parent company. Jollibee said the move will allow it to serve the mainstream American market along with Filipino-Americans living in the U.S. Denver-based Smashburger will retain a 15-percent stake in the operation.
