State lawmakers observed a moment of silence Tuesday morning to honor fallen El Paso County Sherriff's deputy Micah Flick. Deputy Flick was shot and killed while responding to a stolen car investigation Monday.
On the floor of the Colorado House, Representative Tony Exum offered a prayer.
"Father, we just ask for you to give us understanding in this time of trouble when we don't understand why things happen," said Exum
Republican Lois Landgraf said it's a time to come together.
"Keep the family of our Deputy in your prayers and your heart," Said Landgraf. "Also, pray for the quick recovery of the other people who were injured."
Flick is the third Colorado law enforcement officer to be killed in the line of duty in the past five weeks.
