GO SEE MJ MJ is the musical playing right now at the DCPA and it is SO GOOD. It tells the story of Michael Jackson preparing for his Dangerous tour while also sharing his music and life story from childhood. The actor who plays Michael is INCREDIBLE and I mean that about ALL the actors who play Michael at every age. The little kid who plays Young Michael has the same level of talent Michael had when he was that age. I hope his life turns out much different if you know what I mean. The music is insanely good, the dancing is insanely good and you will just have FUN. Get your tickets here if you want. It is ONLY playing until Sunday and tickets are almost sold out. Now Xcel is telling customers that they MUST allow the Smart meter, which allows Xcel to throttle your power during high usage times or whenever they want. 9News reports on it here.
DENVER MAY MAKE COLORADO BOULEVARD WORSE Last night I was coming home from dropping off the friend who went with me to the DCPA (Michelle Zellner says hi!) and I was on Colorado Boulevard at 10:30pm. From 17th to I-25 I got stopped at EVERY SINGLE LIGHT. If you know that route you know there must be 30 lights. The worst part was THERE WAS NO CROSS TRAFFIC at a vast majority of them. I was pissed. Now I see this morning that the geniuses at the City think that a ROAD DIET is what Colorado Blvd needs, or even worse, a similar project to the one they are doing on Colfax right now for buses. Good grief, is there any bad idea they don't love? How about we TIME THE FREAKING LIGHTS instead? Why not try that first? Because right now it's horrible.
WHY ARE DRUG OVERDOSES DOWN MOST STATES BUT UP HERE? I heard a news story on this last night and was initially happy to hear that drug overdoses in the US declined significantly last year. Until I heard this:
Overdose deaths fell in the vast majority of states, although seven saw at least slight increases, including jumps of 10% or more in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico, the preliminary data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed.
Yay, us. Why are overdose deaths so high here? We coddle drug addicts, that's why. We make it easy for homeless people to wallow in their addictions until they die. But hey, the Mayor's office counts death as a successful exit from the program.
DEMOCRAT PRIORITIES ON DISPLAY There is a real chance that Spencer Pratt, a former reality star, may be able to win the Mayor's race. Why? Because current Mayor Karen Bass has idiotic priorities.
