Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he plans to return for his 14th season with the franchise, downplaying potential retirement rumors on a Zoom call with reporters on Monday (December 29) via ESPN.

"I mean, I think I'm coming back, right?" Reid said. "If they'll have me back, I'll come back. You never know in this business. That's a tough one. But I plan on it, yeah."

Reid, 67, typically fields questions about his future in February, with the Chiefs having appeared in the AFC Championship Game in six of the last seven years and the Super Bowl five of the last six years, but failed to make the playoffs this year for the first time since 2014. Kansas City is 6-10 heading into its final game of the 2025 season, a road matchup against the AFC West Division rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday (January 4), which will be Reid's worst finish since joining the franchise in 2013.

Reid signed a five-year, $100 million with the Chiefs in April 2024, shortly after leading the franchise to its third Super Bowl victory in a five-year span. The veteran coach spent 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles prior to joining the Chiefs and is both franchise's all-time winningest coach.
