7/21/25 Blog: Obama Started The Russian Collusion Nonsense To Stop Trump

OBAMA SET UP TRUMP FROM THE BEGINNING That is the "bombshell" released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Friday. I put bombshell in quotes because if it's what it LOOKS like, this is bigger than Watergate, or the Iran-Contra mess, or anything else in the modern era. This is what she tweeted out Friday:

It's a long thread that outlines how after the intelligence community decided that there was NO Russian meddling of note in our election, President Obama called a meeting of his top national security officials including FBI Dir James Comey, CIA Dir John Brennan and DNI James Clapper, who gathered at the Obama White House to discuss Russia. Obama directed the IC to create a new intelligence assessment that detailed Russian election meddling, even though it would contradict multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months. They immediately started leaking to the Washington Post, who we all know were willing participants in trying to take the President Elect down. Just before Trump was sworn in, the new fake documents alleging Russian interference were released, which caused a TWO YEAR investigation into something they knew was fake the entire time. This seems treasonous to me, and the way the mainstream news is simply ignoring it certainly leads me to believe there is fire where there is this much smoke but we'll see. I really believe major media outlets hate Trump so much they will try to bury this. Read the entire press release here. I am suspicious of why they released this on a Friday afternoon, which is news dump territory. The New York Times unquestioningly went with the Democrats version of events, which is that the report is wrong and that when THEY were in charge of investigating their own team no bad actions were found. Of course they weren't. Of course. The article answers accusations that weren't made by Gabbard in an effort to shut the whole thing down. All that being said, I remain suspicious of the entire things unless something else happens.

HOLY SLEEP SCORES, BATMAN My lifelong battle with insomnia is well documented by me on this show. Whatever sleep aid is available, I've taken it, often with disastrous results (falling asleep at my desk once at work comes to mind). When I got back from Japan my sleep was so wrecked until Greg from Blue Sky CBD sent me some sleep gels. I have never slept so well IN MY ENTIRE LIFE as I do taking these things and I want to know the science behind them so I've got Greg and the Dr. Eric Dorminger who works on these products on the show today for more. Find out more or order some for yourself here.

OH LOOK, ANOTHER WEISER LAWSUIT AGAINST TRUMP This is getting boring. At the end of Trump's term, I'm going to add up all the lawsuits our Attorney General signed onto to stop the Trump Administration and see what his winning percentage is. It's going to be low, because these lawsuits have no merit, but that's not the point, is it? It's just to virtue signal and keep his name in the news as Weiser tries to figure out any way to beat Senator Michael Bennet in the primary for Governor. It won't work. Now Weiser has signed onto a lawsuit over the cuts to Medicaid. Whatever. My favorite part of the story is this:

“At a time when Coloradans are already dealing with high costs of living, if this illegal move by the Trump administration stands, it means many people will now also be facing the prospect of paying more for doctor visits and medicine, or even losing their coverage entirely,” said Weiser, a Democrat and candidate for governor.

Great point, why is the cost of living so much higher here than in other places? Could it be the policies of the Democrats who run this state? Methinks so.

REP. JASON CROW SAYS HE WAS KEPT OUT OF AN ICE FACILITY He's been visiting the facility in Aurora regularly apparently, doing what he says is Congressional oversight of the place. Fine. This past weekend he went to pop by and they wouldn't let him in. Why? I have no clue. What I am curious about is why Crow hasn't regularly updated us on what he finds in the facility. I just went and perused his X feed and his official House of Representatives page to see where he reported that the facility was fine and there was nothing to see in his previous visits but not one mention of that. Weird. I'm sure he will have access again soon that he won't report on.

A GENETIC TEST COULD PREDICT OBESITY And I'm not sure what to do with that information once we have it. Why? Because if you test a five year old and find out they have the genetic markers of future obesity, what happens next? The reason kids are fat is because their parents give them crappy food, often because they are poor and don't have know better. And by the way, genetics is just one SMALL part of whether or not you're going to be obese, most of it has to do with lifestyle factors we CAN control.

WE'VE LOST AN AMAZING THOUGHT LEADER In the founder of the Heritage Foundation Ed Feulner, who just passed away at the age of 83. He was an amazing man and I've often wondered what he thought of the political involvement of today's Heritage Foundation versus the steady policy lead information think tank he lead back in the day. I preferred it when Ed ran it if I'm honest. He believed in this great American experiment and he believed in the American people. He will be missed.

THE AP THINKS WE SHOULD MOVE ON FROM BIDEN I bet they do. I did a quick search to see where they published a column about how Democrats should move on from Trump when he was out of office but oddly couldn't find one. Odd. Here they write about how the Republicans focus on the scam perpetuated on the American people is unhealthy for them. Mmmkay.

DHS IS REVIEWING THE 3OZ LIQUID IN CARRYONS RULE And Lord have mercy if they do away with this one can you even IMAGINE the glory of being able to take a yogurt on a trip again??? Read more here but between this and leaving our shoes on Trump is going to make Flying Great Again.

WE'RE LOSING A KING SOOPERS As Kroger announced they were closing underperforming stores they didn't announce which stores would get the axe, but now we know the one in Centennial at Arapahoe and Holly is closing. You have until August 16th if this is your store.

WHY COLORADO'S SLOWING POPULATION GROWTH IS A PROBLEM I realize that for natives the out of control in migration has been irritating. I get it. I've lived through it in my home state. But this column lays out how dependent we are on those new bodies to keep our economy chugging along. And they don't even really mention how much MORE expensive things are now that Democrats have found a bunch of new ways to take our money to spend on pet projects. We need new bodies to replace the old ones!

HOW ABOUT A RETIREMENT CRUISE? Yes, please. I'd love to do this.

O

TRUMP HAS BEEN WARNED ABOUT FIRING POWELL And they are not wrong when they say if the President fires Fed Chair Jerome Powell it will roil the markets. Even though I think the Fed has done a lousy job as of late (No, inflation wasn't "transitory" when you're flooding the market with money you printed) but the notion that the Fed needs to be completely separate from politics is a pretty long standing belief, even if it's something of a fantasy in my view. Read more here, but don't expect Powell to do anytime soon.

POLIS'S POLL IS HIS GRACEFUL WAY OFF THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE I'm sure Governor Polis was shocked when Kyle Clark turned on his vanity project in front of the Capitol, but boy am I glad he did. I think it gave a bunch of other people room to say this idea is horrible. I needed no such permission. Now Eric Sondermann has a column that supposes the online survey about the bridge is simply the convenient off ramp for a horrible idea. I hope he's right.

DON'T GET TOO EXCITED ABOUT THAT EPSTEIN GRAND JURY TESTIMONY Even if it's unsealed, the prosecutors who worked the case say it won't shine much light onto what Americans want to know, which is which rich men flew to an island or visited a brownstone to be serviced by teen girls. We'll never get to know that.

WEAR BUG SPRAY IF THERE ARE MOSQUITOES Because this story about a man who got West Nile Virus is no joke. I have a wonderful friend who is still not fully recovered from his bout with this disease two years later.

THINK IT'S TOO EARLY FOR PSL? Well it's not, as Starbucks is rolling out the popular fall flavor August 26th this year. It's not early, they have rolled it out at the end of August for years, my guess is to soften the Back to School blow for moms. And Ryan Edwards.

ARE WE FINALLY DONE WITH THE NET ZERO FOLLY? This column says maybe. After years of being told that fossil fuel "assets" would soon be "stranded" when we all move on to "renewable" energy, now the reverse seems to be true. From this column:

Consider the latest from the UK. The current Labour government of Keir Starmer, elected just a year ago, is languishing with record-low approval ratings. A YouGov poll in May found Labour with just a 23% “favorability” among the populace, compared to 32% favorability for the Reform Party of Nigel Farage (and 16% favorability for the Conservatives). In other words, if and when the next election is held, Reform could well prevail. Meanwhile, the Reform Party has broken with the former all-party consensus in favor of “net zero,” otherwise known as endless subsidies for wind and solar power.
Two days ago, on July 16, the Deputy Leader of the Reform Party, Richard Tice, wrote to heads of UK renewable energy companies to advise them that a Reform government headed by Nigel Farage would terminate the subsidies for wind and solar energy. Here is a copy of one such letter sent by Tice to Greg Jackson, CEO of Octopus Energy; and here is a July 17 press release from Net Zero Watch publicizing Tice’s initiative. Tice’s letter specifically warns wind developers that if they are granted subsidies in an upcoming round of handouts from the Labour government dubbed “AR7,” a future Reform government will not continue those subsidies:
Let me be clear: if you enter bids in AR7, you do so at your own risk. The political consensus that has sheltered your industry for nearly two decades is fracturing. Reform UK will not be bound by the assumptions or commitments of this failing Labour government.

Now that subsidies have been axed here in the US does the renewable energy sector find ways to make their product cheaper and more affordable and efficient? We'll see, won't we.

THE LIE ABOUT EUROPEANS LIVING BETTER THAN WE DO People in the US who haven't travelled much seem to have the impression that life in Europe is glorious. To be sure, they do have some lifestyle differences that I envy, but overall, I don't want to live there forever. Why? Because I like my big house with ac and a washer and dryer among other things. Tyler Cowen at The Free Press discovered the same on his recent trip.

ABOUT THE WOMEN'S SUB FOUR MINUTE MILE This story is a great reminder that sex differences matter, and that even the most elite of elite female runners can't do what so many men have already done, and that is run a sub 4 minute mile. Read it here and then say she should just train harder.

TRADE DEFICITS DON'T COST AMERICAN JOBS This is story about a new book on economic freedom and the benefits of it. Check out the chart in this article to see exactly how little they matter.
