The U.S. may hold the nickname of "America the Beautiful," but the awe-inspiring scenery, breathtaking views and one-of-a-kind outposts stretch far beyond the borders of the states.

LoveExploring compiled a list of the "most beautiful attractions" found around the "vast and diverse" continent that is North America, searching for incredible spots like "captivating cities," sparkling waters in hidden lakes and picturesque wilderness stretching as far as the eye can see. Among the list are two gorgeous spots in Colorado: the unique appearance of the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs (No. 10) and the vast beauty of Great Sand Dunes National Park (No. 14).

Here's what the site had to say about these stunning spots:

"Imagine standing among towering red sandstone rock formations that seem to have been sculpted by the hands of time itself. The Garden of the Gods offers just that, with its dramatic spires, fins, and balancing rocks set against the backdrop of Pike Peak. It's a landscape that feels otherworldly, where every turn reveals a new natural marvel. Whether hiking, rock climbing, or simply taking in the views, the park's striking contrast of color, from the deep red rocks to the brilliant blue sky, make it an unforgettable experience."
"At Great Sand Dunes National Park, the tallest sand dunes in North America rise up against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, creating a truly surreal scene. These enormous dunes, some reaching as high as 750 feet, are perfect for adventure seekers who can hike to the top or try their hand at sandboarding down the steep slopes. The park offers a rare mix of desert and alpine beauty."
