3/20/25 Blog: Dems Trying To Make Attempted Murder Easier

WELCOME TO SPRING! Today is the day we cross the celestial equator and move into spring in the Northern Hemisphere. All sorts of pagan like religions are busy today with ceremonies and whatnot and if you've ever wondered about what the day is all about science wise, read this. If you want to know why the pagans celebrate, read this.

THERE IS ACTUALLY A BILL REDUCING PENALTIES FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER Under the Gold Dome now. Rep. Jarvis Caldwell, who wins the award for the most undercover superhero name in the Legislature, posted this yesterday:

They heard the bill yesterday and he's on the show at 12:30 today for an update. Spoiler alert: it was not killed.

RICHARD HOLTORF WANTS TO BE GOP CHAIRMAN And he's on today at 1pm with Danielle Neuschwanger, who is running on his "slate" for the top party positions. When Danielle ran for Governor I liked her very much until she left the party and ran a sure to lose campaign as the Constitution Party's nominee. I told her then this was a HUGE mistake that would damage her political future greatly. I was right. She's now trying to make a comeback, which I was initially kind of excited about, but then I saw this last night. It's a post by Natalee Tennant who is one of the founders of Never Surrender, a GOP group in Colorado. She says Danielle used her to try to get on with Brita Horn's candidacy. She also posted audio of the phone calls she had with Danielle about supporting Britta. I'll ask Danielle about this today. Unfortunately this is overshadowing Richard's candidacy among the rank and file I'm hearing from. Slates are bad in everything except school board races where they are necessary to fight teacher's unions. You can find the platform Richard is running on below but it's a PDF so you gotta be ready for that. They join me at 1 today.

JOHNSTON AND POLIS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GANG ACTIVITY That is what this editorial argues and though I would spread the blame to all the Democrats who have worked hard to make crime easier (and continue to do so) while they also banned cooperation with Immigration Enforcement at the same time. I would love to hear from Democrats about why this ISN'T there fault that goes beyond "it's everywhere" because it is NOT. Not remotely. Read it here.

THREE PUEBLO POLICE OFFICERS ARE HOSPITALIZED BECAUSE OF DEM POLICIES So says the Police Chief of Pueblo during a press conference about the incident that saw a man wanted for attempted murder, who should have been in jail, open fire on the officers who went to arrest him. You know what wouldn't have stopped this? More gun laws. You know what would have? Keeping dangerous people in jail. This guy was a known gang member with PAGES of a rap sheet. Colorado Democrats need to be asked to respond to this. Unfortunately no one will ask them and they won't come on my show.

MARCH MADNESS KICKS OFF TODAY AT BALL ARENA So if you're headed downtown be prepared for a bunch of out of town sports fans to be wandering the roads lost and probably a bit drunk. But the impact is worth it economically.

DENVER IS GOING TO SPEND 15 MILLION FOR BAD IDEAS FOR PENA BOULEVARD The logical thing to do with Pena Boulevard between 70 and the airport is to add more lanes. Easy peasey, no big studies and complicated plans needed, but never let it be said that the Denver City Council acts in ways that are logical. Instead, they are going to pay $15 million to a consultant so they can decide to build more bus lanes no one will use. You can read it here but I'm certain they will only make a dumb and bad decision designed to force us out of our cars because they believe they should tell us what we need instead of just doing what we actually need.

AURORA'S SALES TAXES MIRROR THE ECONOMY Aurora is facing a bit of a budget shortfall because sales tax revenue is flat year over year. When you read on in the story you see this:

Sales tax from eating and drinking rounded off between 2023 and 2024, hovering just above $40,000 both years, which is an increase from 2020, when it dipped to about $26,000 due to government-ordered pandemic closures. Sales tax from building materials leveled off between 2023 and 2024, hovering just below $30,000 both years, and sales tax from auto dealers and parts increased less than half a percent between the same years, sitting just below $20,000.
A "good surprise" in sales tax revenue came from electronics and computers, Oliva said and, on the flip side, a bad one came from grocery stores, which dropped between 2023 and 2024.

These are big purchase sectors and they show that people have pulled back their spending. This is consistent with other economic news we've seen.

BRAVE! STUNNING! TESLA POWER CORDS CUT Of course some Colorado Lefty vented their spleen, probably while whispering "RESIST" under their mask, and cut the charging cords on the Tesla chargers at the Colorado Mills Mall. Immediately after the cords were cut, Trump became no longer President and Elon Musk died. Wait, what? That didn't happen? My bad.

THANKS TO KYLE CLARK FOR COVERING THIS STORY Because no one else is. Nine outdoor deaths in nine days in Denver. This is beyond shameful. I can feel the vibrancy from here. The woman from the Harm Reduction Action Network says these deaths are preventable, and she is right, but she's in the business of enabling addiction.

AURORA TEACHERS SHUT SCHOOLS TODAY So instead of learning, kids are home. Instead of teaching, the teachers are engaged in political activism. Whatever.

WILL A BASIN EVER BE THE SAME? Starting next year A Basin, which has long been considered the Local's Mountain because it wasn't associated with corporate skiing interest, will be a part of corporate skiing. Ikon pass holders will have unlimited access to A Basin, which some say will ruin the feel of the mountain forever. They are probably right.

TRUMP WILL SIGN AN ORDER TO SHUTDOWN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Has there been a Department that has failed in its mission so spectacularly? Since its inception in 1979 scores have flatlined and internationally we have lost significant ground to many, many other nations, going from the top of the list to the middle. This graph represents the scores of students on the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the only consistently given national test.

So what are we even doing here? Wasting gobs of money on a bureaucracy that has failed in its mission. Abolish it. Of course that likely won't happen because Democrats will protect the teachers union grift from the DoE.

WHITE COLLEGE EDUCATED WOMEN ARE OUT OF STEP WITH AMERICA But unfortunately they are the people who scream and cry and get on the news. Check out this chart on attitudes:

AN AGENCY WHERE FEDERAL EMPLOYEES LIVED LIKE KINGS If you want to know why DOGE is so important, read this article about an agency I'd never heard of, The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). It is supposed to provide mediation services between unions and businesses. But holy cow have they been wasting our money in infuriating ways. Check this out:

One of the seven small federal agencies that President Donald Trump ordered downsized or eliminated on Friday was rife with corruption, with its employees hiring friends and relatives, commissioning paintings of themselves, and using government credit cards to indulge in constant luxuries.
The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) occupied a nine-story office tower on D.C.’s K Street for only 60 employees, many of whom actually worked from home, prior to the pandemic. Its managers had luxury suites with full bathrooms; one manager would often be “in the shower” when she was needed, while another used her bathroom as a cigarette lounge. FMCS recorded its director as being on a years-long business trip to D.C. so he could have all of his meals and living expenses covered by taxpayers, simply for showing up to the office.

There is so much more and it's so much worse. So, so much worse. This needs to be shared far and wide with everyone who says DOGE isn't needed or justified. The people in this agency have been STEALING tax dollars through massive fraud for YEARS. They don't need to be fired they need to be jailed.

TRUMP DINGS THE IVORIES Specifically the University of Pennsylvania over it's allowing men in women's sports, and Columbia over their weak response to anti-Semitic protests at the school. Between the two he's looking at witholding roughly half a BILLION dollars in federal money. Don't worry too much about these schools though, Penn has an endowment of 22.3 BILLION while Columbia's endowment is $14.7 BILLION. They will survive. Check out all the endowments of these hotbeds of anti-Americanism here.

WHY PEOPLE FILL OUT MARCH MADNESS BRACKETS This is kind of interesting. It's all about cash and glory, but some of the stats in this article were surprising to me. We shall review.

DOES WEARING A HAT MAKE YOU BALD? The answer here is yes and no. No in the sense that wearing a hat itself won't make you lose hair, but wearing one that is too tight can have a negative impact on your hairline. It's more about genetics than anything else.

YOU CAN'T COPYRIGHT AI CREATED STUFF And now the courts have ruled. From the article:

A three-judge panel for the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit unanimously agreed with the Copyright Office that Stephen Thaler's AI software cannot be granted authorship. Copyright law "requires all work to be authored in the first instance by a human being," Judge Patricia Millett wrote in her opinion.
"Because many of the Copyright Act's provisions make sense only if an author is a human being, the best reading of the Copyright Act is that human authorship is required for registration," Millett wrote.

The plaintiff argues that the copyright laws are outdated and that they clearly don't define "author". He's not wrong about that. We'll see if Congress acts in any significant way. My guess is they will act on updating copyright laws when someone uses their likeness or voice without their permission.
