POLIS DOES A STUNT, VIVEK FALLS FOR IT I rolled my eyes SO HARD at this story about the Governor taking an actual buzz saw to a big pile of paper that was supposedly a bunch of redundant Executive Orders so he could claim he "cut" regulations. What a joke. We know that under his "leadership" we've had so many new regulations shoved down our throats that it's slowed our economy and made us the 6th Most Regulated State in the Union. Imagine my chagrin when I saw this story about Vivek Ramaswamy praising our fake Libertarian Governor for being a regulation cutter. We've got to continue to push back against this fake narrative he's pushing for his run for President.
THIS AS DC IS BETTING AGAINST DOGE I think Peter Thiel is 100% right here but I'm rooting for DOGE to buck the trend and be successful anyway.
THE WORLDWIDE POTENTIAL OF DOGE This is a great column about the excitement about the potential of the new Department of Government Efficiency. Even as DC poo-poos the efforts to reign in government waste and spending, the rest of the world recognizes that it would give them permission to do the same and finally do something about their unsustainable levels of spending. ANOTHER APARTMENT COMPLEX IS BEING SHUT DOWN After the owners have found it impossible to right the ship after gangs infested it some time ago. Now the Edge at Lowry will be shut down as well, although these buildings are owned by a different Dallas based company that hasn't responded to requests for comment. Here's an idea, why not work intensively with law enforcement to solve the crime problem while simultaneously holding the property owners responsible for bringing the place up to code instead of making people homeless? Just a thought.
DAVE WILLIAMS PLAYS THE VICTIM The four people who run the Colorado GOP X account often engage in juvenile trolling via the account. They engaged in a back and forth with a local podcaster and are now running around saying they were threatened. How about this, stop being an ahole on X? Don't engage with people who clap at you first. It's super easy, I do it all the time. Read the whole thread below, and though I do think this podcaster crossed the line, take note of the tone of the Colorado GOP X account to understand they are not innocent bystanders here. They run their account with a POWN THE LIBS mentality except it's POWN THE REPUBLICANS WE DON'T LIKE instead.
MORE REGULATIONS IN COLORADO...I'M SHOCKED What makes this story so entertaining to me is that the whacko environmentalists are making it harder to use the carbon capture technology they say we need to get to the impossible NetZero. This story is boring and I probably won't go into it, but it's another example of government ruining everything in Colorado. Where is Polis's buzzsaw for this?
IS ANYONE USING THE BIKE LANES? According to this editorial and my own lying eyes the answer is no.
RUDE NEIGHBORS HAVE RUDE SIGN And some in the neighborhood are asking for decorum. What I don't get is that this condo building MUST have an HOA and I find it hard to believe that hanging a giant F*CK TRUMP sign is allowed. But maybe the HOA board agrees. The neighbors do not, but there doesn't seem to be much they can do about it. For those of us who curse discreetly this is irritating as well.
FORT COLLINS AND LOVELAND, YOUR WATER RATES ARE GOING UP And going up FAST. I fully expect rate increases like this to hit other parts of the metro and water providers try to manage our limited water. The easiest way to get people to give up their lawns is to make them pay more to water them.

According to the findings, the majority of the health span deficit can be attributed to non-infectious diseases, which include heart disease and diabetes — and which have cumulative effects that typically come to a head in old age. “Aging itself is a very important factor in the development of chronic diseases, so that’s an unintended consequence of people living longer,” Armin Garmany, an MD-PhD candidate at the Mayo Clinic and study co-author, tells Yahoo Life.
Note that those two chronic conditions are often lifestyle related.

ARE TESLA DRIVERS THE WORST DRIVERS NOW? In the last two days I've been in "rush hour" traffic in Denver. Boy do I hate that. Both days, I've had to deal with Tesla drivers who make it all worse with their driving. Not just one, mind you, but like six over the course of my hour long commutes. It used to be Subaru drives that were infuriating but now Tesla drivers are the worst. This story about angry liberals who drive Teslas buying bumper stickers to show they aren't with Elon is perfectly on brand for these drivers.
