A WEB SERIES TO TEACH KIDS ABOUT BEING ONLINE I'm very excited to have Agnes from Social Smarts with Agnes, a very new web series that helps teach kids about social media and tech usage. Inspired by real conversations with her nephew, each episode is a quick 10-minute dive into the "why" behind social media. It is intended for parents to watch with their tweens for a fresh perspective and to help open an ongoing dialogue. In the very first episode, she unpacks why age 13 is the magic number for social media sign-ups. From the legal frameworks like COPPA regulations to data privacy and content suitability, she breaks it all down in an easy-to-understand way so parents can begin a dialog with their kids. A little about Agnes: she was on the early and launch teams for companies including TikTok and Tinder. Now, with this podcast, she's blending her professional expertise with a personal mission inspired by her efforts to educate my 10-year-old nephew so he has the tools to think smartly and safely about social media. With concerns about data privacy, online safety, and the legal battles over platforms like TikTok, "Social Smarts" offers timely advice that's relevant to what families are facing today. SHOULD CANDIDATES PAY THEMSELVES FROM CAMPAIGN FUNDS? To be clear, paying yourself out of campaign funds IS NOT illegal in any way shape or form. 4th Congressional District Democratic candidate Trisha Calvarese has been giving herself a small and reasonable salary from her campaign funds, and I'm perfectly fine with this. I'd actually like to normalize this. Why? Because campaigning is a full time job, and if you don't come from money or have a nice nest egg to support you it can prevent middle class people from being able to run. I do think candidates need to be transparent with donors about the practice however, but what do you think?

WHY IS THE NEW YORK TIMES HIDING THE HAMAS CONNECTIONS OF A GUEST? This is another story of a formerly great media organization just sliding into laziness designed to protect a political agenda. The New York Times recently did a back and forth on Israel between a Jewish man from Israel and a Palestinian man but there was a big difference in how the two men were presented. From The Free Press:
But while the Israeli man was described in full—as a “liberal” 44-year-old father named Golan Abitbul, born and raised on Kibbutz Be’eri, the Palestinian man’s identity was shrouded in secrecy. The New York Times simply referred to him as “Hussein, a Palestinian man living in Gaza.” The host, Sabrina Tavernise, did not ask Hussein any follow-up questions when he revealed that, unlike most Gazans right now, he has “a good income” and is able to pay about $1,000 a month for rent. And she let him explain—uninterrupted—about why, a year later, the war ravages on.
“I’m surprised that there is humans doing this force,” Hussein said of Israeli soldiers, in broken English. “How could human became this evil, killing others, imposing collective punishment on over two million people with no reason? What are they going to gain? Why they are doing this?”
The thing the New York Times left out about Hussein is that HE LITERALLY WORKS FOR HAMAS. How did the Free Press discover this information which must have been hidden from the New York Times? OH LOOK, THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY POPS UP TO PROTECT DEMS AGAIN When I saw the story where a man alleged that Tim Walz acting inappropriately toward him when he was a student at the high school where Walz worked I had to eye roll. It was the most contrived October surprise I'd seen lately, and it was quickly debunked when news media outlets talked to the ACTUAL student who said no such thing every occurred. But here comes the "intelligence community" to run cover for the Democrats. The same "intelligence community" that said the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation is now conveniently blaming Russia for this latest scam. Sorry kids, you lied your asses off to cover for Biden and I frankly don't give a rat's ass about what you say going forward. I sure hope the Dems report this as a campaign donation.
