9/18/24 Blog: Tiny Show But Full Blog

WHAT WILL THE FED DO? By the time I read this the Federal Reserve should have released the rate cut, but will it be 25 basis points or 50? We'll find out together.

SPEEDING TOWARDS ASSASSINATION Just a bit more on the guy who tried to shoot Trump last week and the responsibility of the Left for the rhetoric that got us here. First off, I predict that this Routh character will agree to a sit down interview, against the advice of his attorneys, BEFORE the election. I hope he does as I believe his ego is such that he thinks he is an incredible consequential person and will want the world to see that. Second, there are some who are pointing out that all these assassination attempts are going to get Donald Trump elected, and they may be right. I can't imagine why someone would try to kill Trump, but maybe this montage will give us some idea.

But I'm sure it's Trump's fault.

MORE DETAILS ON THE HEZBOLLAH PAGER STORY And this is CRAZY. Apparently the Israelis intercepted the entire load of pagers and put tiny amounts of explosives in each one that was set off by some sort of code sent to the pagers. The entire incident has set the entire country of Lebanon on edge as people are now wondering what else could be rigged to explode. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

CARAVEO IS HAVING TO DIG DEEP TO ATTACK GABE EVANS But she's doing her best in the very close 8th Congressional race by saying Evans hasn't adequately renounced a former campaign worker who posted Anti-Semitic things on her social media before she worked for Evans. Evans, on the other hand, fired the woman immediately after the posts were brought to his attention. His campaign manager said this:

“Gabe fully rejects the offensive material contained in those social media posts,” campaign spokesman Alan Philp wrote. “That’s why he acted immediately upon learning of them.”

I'm not sure what else he's supposed to do there, but he then counter attacked by pointing out Caraveo's silence on campus protests and no votes on aid for Israel.

YES, SLUMLORDS OWNED THE BUILDINGS But that doesn't mean gangs didn't take over. The Denver Post did a good bit of journalism on the history of CBZ Management and their dump apartment buildings and it's not pretty. As I've said all along, two things can be true at once, they can be slumlords and gangs could have taken over the apartments.

I WONDER WHO IS SEEKING UNINSURED MEDICAL CARE? I'm glad Denver Health exists to provide care for people who can't pay for it (even though Obamacare was supposed to make sure no one was ever uninsured) but the numbers of uncompensated care are staggering. Last year the hospital system provided $155 MILLION in uncompensated care, which is up dramatically from the pre-Covid years. Read more here, but I'm guessing we are paying for the medical care of a lot of illegal immigrants.

DENVER SAYS THEY WILL SPEND LESS ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS NEXT YEAR As the flow over the southern border has FINALLY slowed after the Biden Harris Administration re instated some Trump era rules, Denver says they are knocking down spending on illegal immigrants dramatically next year. After spending almost $100 million this year, they will only spend $12 million next year. Yay I guess.

ARVADA IS ABOUT TO SOMETHING STUPID And that is place a homeless navigation center, NOT a shelter, in a neighborhood. If I'm in that neighborhood I'm fighting this with every fiber of my being because this WILL reduce property values around the center. Even without a shelter you are asking homeless people to congregate in this area and that is not okay. I'm in favor of this sort of service, but in an area where property values will not be affected.

STRIPPERS NEED WAGE PROTECTION TOO Although if you are stripper and you aren't being tipped the equivalent of minimum wage for one dance you may want to change professions. Just saying. Now the state is going after strip clubs for misclassifying strippers to avoid paying them benefits.

GOOD LUCK SUING CASA BONITA Because when you enter into their reservations portal you have to sign an agreement that says you will defer any legal action to mediation. This is becoming increasingly common and there may be a need for some new laws about this to protect consumers.

I GUESS IT WON'T RUIN THE TOUR AFTER ALL Justin Timberlake, fresh off a guilty plea for reckless driving in the Hamptons, is bringing his tour to Denver. I guess that arrest didn't ruin the tour after all.

JUST SAY NO TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE BAN That is being run in Denver by animal rights folks who ultimately want us to give up eating meat entirely. The long game is to make meat so expensive people can't afford it, and one way to do that is to choke off processing plants like the one in Denver. Vote no, and read this column for more on why.

TEXAS IS GOING AFTER TdA Which is bad news for Colorado because they will just come here. Read this about Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared them a foreign terrorist organization and is creating task forces and teams to dismantle them in Texas. How refreshing.

WHY ARE WE AT PEAK STRESS? In a world where most of us don't have to worry about starving to death, or being eaten by a predator, or being attacked in our homes, why are we so stressed? This article just depressed me because we are doing this ourselves. We must stop.

LOOKING FOR FUN FALL EVENTS? Here is a really big list of everything from pumpkin patch stuff to Octoberfest and more.

CNN COULD BE IN BIG TROUBLE After airing a story on a man smuggling Afghan citizens out of the craphole country for a hefty sum. CNN painted Zachary Young like a predatory, horrible exploiter for his work and ignored him when he said that there were factual inaccuracies in the story BEFORE IT AIRED. Now he's suing CNN for a billion dollars and some of the internal emails from CNN are really, really damning. I hope Young wins.

IS AMERICA RACIST? Daily Wire took it to the streets to ask and you already know the answer.

MORE SHEEP HERDING VIDEO Because it's just so cool.
