DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN IS MAKING HISTORY Or rather should I say writing history, as she has for decades. She is the author of acclaimed biographies of American greats like Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson and others. She is now writing her own history and that of her husband as they navigated Washington DC in the 1960's as they both worked in government. DEMOCRATS STEALING TAX REFUNDS AGAIN The Democrats HATE the Taxpayers Bill of Rights (TABOR) with the fire of 1,000 suns. They are coming after our refunds AGAIN this year with a new scheme to use the refunds to fund tax credits to give to families in poverty. This is my favorite part of the Colorado Sun story:
Taken together, the two measures could cut child poverty by half in Colorado, said Rep. Chris deGruy Kennedy, the No. 3 Democrat in the House, who is sponsoring the family tax credit.
“It’s a trade-off,” deGruy Kennedy told The Colorado Sun in an interview earlier this year. “I’m betting on the idea that an awful lot of Coloradans would say, ‘oh yeah, I’d give up a couple hundred bucks (in TABOR refunds) if that cuts child poverty in half in Colorado.’ ”
deGruy may be right, so let's put it on the ballot and find out, as TABOR requires. Instead, Democrats will just steal from everyone to fund their pet project without convincing the voters to do so on their own. You know why they won't? Because people want their money.
THANK GOODNESS WE HAVE CLEARER DEMANDS FROM IDIOT PROTESTERS The dumbasses at Auraria have issued a clear set of demands and they are the same old, same old. If I'm the leadership on campus I ask for further clarification. I make these people tell me the names of the companies that meet these standards.
Fully divest from any corporations operating in Israel.
Fully disclose financial investments.
Refuse to “accept grants or funding from corporations that contract with the U.S. armed forces and terminate any relationships with said corporations.”
Make them list them. Because they have NO IDEA what corporations they are talking about. No clue. They also want amnesty for the idiots and a statement condemning Israel (as if Israel gives a crap). I'm sure the mealy mouthed leadership will find some way to cave and empower these dumbasses.

THIS AURORA DENTIST MURDER STORY GOT EVEN STUPIDER I've already talked about how dentist James Craig is the worst criminal in the entire world. He had the cyanide he used to kill his wife delivered to his office and left a trail of evidence Mr. Magoo could have followed that led to his arrest. Now new charges have been added as an inmate now says Craig asked him to plant letters allegedly written by his late wife that would show her to be suicidal. I can't believe how dumb this guy is.
IRAN OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS KICKED OUT FOR PROTESTING If this doesn't show these morons whose side they are on I don't know what will. A university in Iran has offered scholarships to students who have been kicked out of schools because they were protesting on behalf of Hamas. They are on the side of Iran. Period.
CONGRESS HAS HAD ENOUGH OF MGT And thank goodness. Her recent threats to try to an unseat Speaker Mike Johnson have been doused with cold water by members of her own party and the Democratic party who seem to have tired of being led by the fringe. Now we'll see if Democrats do the same to the wingnuts in their party.
DID WE PASS PEAK DEMENTIA? This would be great news as prior studies have shown dementia was supposed to triple by 2050. A newer study says old people are not losing their cognitive faculties and that the gap between young and old cognitive powers is declining. Read more here.
CARDIO FITNESS STAVES OFF DEATH And we're not talking by a little, we're talking a LOT. From the article:
Publishing their work in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, the international research team analyzed data from a staggering 199 studies, including over 20 million participants. They looked at how cardiorespiratory fitness levels predicted future health outcomes.
The results were striking. People with high fitness levels had a 41 to 53-percent lower risk of premature death from any cause compared to those with low fitness. Each incremental increase in fitness of 1 MET (a measure of exercise intensity) was associated with a seven to 51-percent lower mortality risk, depending on the cause of death. The protective effects were applicable to deaths from cardiovascular disease, cancer, and sudden cardiac events.
