Enter Sylvester Monkey McBean, a huckster and con man who promised to make Sneetches with no stars JUST AS GOOD as those without with his Star Adding machine. The crux of the story is the Sneeches got snookered as they tried to one up each other while Monkey McBean got rich and left them penniless. The similarities are shocking. Dave Williams is stunning in his role as con man Sylvester Monkey McBean and he's figured out a cool way to divide Republicans by supporting this jackassery called the Colorado RINO Watch. Rather than battle it out in the war of ideas, this group of childish, name calling petty tyrants is trying to shame anyone they've decided they don't like for whatever reason. Today it's Deb Flora, a woman is who 100% for smaller government, personal freedoms, lower taxes, and is pro-life. But because she decided to NOT go through the Assembly run by Monkey McBean over concerns that it would be the massive dumpster fire it was, she's now on the list. The accusation is that she "lied" about going through the assembly process and then changed her mine. Quick question, RINO Watch, did Dave Williams lie about doing business by importing cheap Chinese crap or have you bothered to ask him? Did Lauren Boebert lie about vaping in a theater before she admitted it after it was caught on tape? What lies get you on the Wall of Shame? Just curious. If you want to vote for Lauren Boebert and Dave Williams fine, but declaring their opponents as not true conservatives when everything in their records and actions prove otherwise is just lame and shows how devoid of principles and ideas they truly are. This is why Republicans will continue losing in Colorado for the foreseeable future, unless and until these Republicans stop trying to make themselves better than anyone in the same party they disagree with. Even the Sneetches caught on eventually.

DEMS WORKING TO MAKE HEALTH INSURANCE EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE Any new mandate on coverage drives up premium costs but Democrats don't care. In a state with some of the lowest numbers of obesity in the country they are trying to force insurers to cover very expensive weight loss drugs. It's passed one hurdle in the Legislature already. The argument that this would save in the long run does have merit, but these drugs don't work for everyone and they must be taken for the rest of your life, which is going to cost a fortune, especially for Medicaid where people are more likely to be overweight.

DON WILSON HANDS AMMO TO THE GUN GRABBERS By leaving his loaded 9mm in a bathroom in the Capitol in the same Legislative session that they are trying to make impossible for anyone to carry in a huge number of places. THE US GOVERNMENT KNEW EXACTLY WHERE COVID CAME FROM That seems to be what Senator Rand Paul is saying in this article. From the Op-Ed:

In fact, 15 agencies with knowledge of this project have continuously refused to release any information concerning this alarming and dangerous research. Government officials representing at least 15 federal agencies were briefed on a project proposed by Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
This project, the DEFUSE project, proposed to insert a furin cleavage site into a coronavirus to create a novel chimeric virus that would have been shockingly similar to the COVID-19 virus.
But remember, don't say that it came from a lab when it clearly jumped from an unknown bat to humans even though it was never found in a bat.
A HIGHER MINIMUM WAGE MEANS CASHIERS IN THE PHILIPPINES This is an interesting look at ways restaurants in New York City are trying to manage costs by doing away with in person cashiers and using virtual cashiers instead. Obviously there are no cash transactions but I fully expect this technology to take hold in more and more restaurants in cities with a high minimum wage. Pay 20 bucks an hour for a disinterested slacker who calls in sick or $3 an hour for a person in the Philippines who wants the the work? You decide.

NOAA IS JUST MAKING CRAP UP ON CLIMATE CHANGE Like 30% of the so-called "data" from weather stations nationwide. How do we know they are making crap up? Because those weather stations don't exist anymore yet they are still "reporting" data. If a private company did this it would be called fraud. From the article:
Mr. Shewchuck said USHCN stations reached a maximum of 1,218 stations in 1957, but after 1990 the number of active stations began declining due to aging equipment and personnel retirements.
NOAA still records data from these ghost stations by taking the temperature readings from surrounding stations, and recording their average for the ghost station, followed by an “E,” for estimate.
Call me crazy, but if we're having a "climate emergency" shouldn't we make sure that these stations still exist and are working properly, right? Shouldn't that be the LEAST that we do to get accurate temperature readings? Some of the stations that they use to "average" the fake readings are over a hundred miles away. This is yet another reason I don't buy what they are selling.
AMERICAN FLAG IMAGERY IS TRIGGERING IN SEATTLE This triggering business is so stupid. If a shirt with stars and stripes on it causes you to feel "triggered and unsafe" you don't need to complain about them you need therapy or a swift kick in the pants. But that's what happened at a line dancing competition in Seattle. The group organizing the event kicked out a group of dancers because they had shirts with stars on one side and stripes on the other and now they are trying to backtrack after catching hell for it. As they should.
MOST VOTERS HAVE NO CLUE HOW MUCH THE TOP 1% PAY IN TAXES Which is why the "fair share" garbage message gets eaten up. It's worse than I could have imagined though, look at these poll results. The poll clearly shows that Americans don't understand the tax code AT ALL, which is terrible because so much of our money goes into it. But that's the way government wants it. The top 1% paid almost 46% of the income taxes in this country, by the way.
YES, TRUMP IS BRINGING MINORITY VOTERS TO THE GOP And even the New York Times had to admit it as you can see in a story linked in this article. The numbers aren't huge, but they don't need to be to create real havoc for Democrats who seem to be choosing illegal immigrants over lower class hispanics and black folks who are already here.

MORE RACIAL BIAS IN CHATBOTS And this one has to with "black sounding" names. From USAToday:
A recent paper from researchers at Stanford Law School found “significant disparities across names associated with race and gender” from chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4 and Google AI’s PaLM-2. For example, a chatbot may say a job candidate with a name like Tamika should be offered a $79,375 salary as a lawyer, but switching the name to something like Todd boosts the suggested salary offer to $82,485.
So you get a black George Washington but Tamika is going to get less money. This tech is far from ready for prime time.
