A TRUCK MAKES PRO HAMAS STAFF AT CU BOULDER FAMOUS Accuracy in Media has promised to expose the people on college campuses who have been outspoken in their support for Hamas after the massacre on October 7th in Israel and this week they came to Boulder. Check this out:
The Boulder Daily Camera chose not to name those featured on the billboards but I feel no such hesitation. After all, they sent out a statement in October where they all signed their names because they wanted everyone to know they thought rape and murder was justified when Palestinians did it, amiright? The billboards also direct people to checkyourhate.com where businesses can sign up to make sure they don't hire any anti-Semites and it's already a long list. From that website you can visit another website that is documenting cases on anti-Semitism on college campuses and I think it's all glorious and about time we fought back hard against this toxic ideology.

THE CITY OF EL PASO SAYS KEEP ASKING FOR MONEY El Paso is in the heart of the border crisis and the Denver Gazette has sent two reporters to the border to do a series of stories. I find it odd how in this story there is no question about border security. The Deputy City manager of El Paso says that Mayor Mike Johnston should keep asking for federal money as El Paso gets quite a bit to deal with the illegal immigrant crisis created by lax border policies, though you won't see any mention of those here. I'm not impressed with this reporting so far.
ONE MICRO COMMUNITY HAS BEEN STOPPED...FOR NOW A Denver resident who sued the city over a planned microcommunity for the homeless in the Overland neighborhood has won. This will be a temporary victory however as the ground has already been broken on the site and the city has already refiled for the permits. The issue was that the City did not follow the rules when it comes to mitigating the impact to the surrounding communities so we'll see what they come up with. I think they should be concerned. Yesterday I had a story about crime stats in the metro that clearly showed Central Park to be the leader for crime this year. Check out this tweet from DoBetterDenver:
It appears to show a HUGE spike in crime in the area where a bunch of homeless people are being warehoused in hotels. Seems housing didn't solve all their problems, maybe? Be vigilant about where they Mayor is trying to put these warehouses and be ready to fight if they are coming to your neighborhood.
THIS STORY OF A TROUBLED YOUNG PERSON IS SO SAD A young person who planned and threatened to shoot up a middle school has been sentenced to six years in prison. The story of William "Lily" Whitworth is a sad one. Apparently this kids suffered horrible abuse and a chaotic life with their mother and stepfather and has now decided that he is a she. How many so-called trans kids are just kids trying to process horrific abuse? I'm glad nothing bad happened at a middle school but this kid needs serious help and I hope they get it in prison.
YES, THE COST OF LIVING IS TOO HIGH IN COLORADO And I'm here to tell you that Democrats bear most of the blame. A new survey says that people here are most worried about the cost of living in Colorado, and if we had a functioning Republican party they would have a strong case to run on, but alas we don't. THE LEGISLATURE IS PUSHING ADUS And I still think this is state overreach even if I agree that Accessory Dwelling Units are a good idea on the right kind of lot. The state is trying to make it easier for people to build such dwellings but will surely come up against local control issues. This group loves local control when locals are restricting something they hate like guns, but it's not that important when they want to steamroll districts into doing what they want them to do. Hypocrites.
AFFORDABLE AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING COMES TO THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE And I can't wait to see what the neighbors have to say about this project. The City of Denver is working to put a complex that will house people coming out of homelessness and folks making just 60% of the area's median income. I hope those low income people are ready to deal with drug addicts and mentally ill neighbors. Read more here.

You will have to file a form 1099-K for money you got paid via any cash app that is over $600 in a year. This is going to hit a LOT of side hustles and gig workers HARD. IS THIS HOW THEY GET HOMELESS SHELTERS IN NEIGHBORHOODS? The state is moving a bill through now that would prevent local municipalities from restricting how many unrelated people can live together. This is often argued for by saying we need to create more affordable housing by allowing more roommates, which is a good argument. But can it also be used to create shelters in single family neighborhoods? I think so. Read it here.

A story came out a few days ago that showed that some percentage of young voters said if Taylor Swift endorsed someone they would vote for them. So now MAGA has declared a "Holy War" on Taylor Swift. Good Lord, this is so stupid. First off, how many of their daughters think Taylor Swift is the end all, be all? Why not try to make the case that Trump is the better candidate for young voters being crushed by high prices and out of control spending? Why not try that?
