05/30/23 Blog: Happy Tuesday That Feels Like A Monday!

IT'S A SHORT WEEK, EREBODY! Enjoy a four day workweek and then wonder what it would be like to always have that and read this. Just saying.

MORE COUNTIES ARE JOINING THE LAWSUIT AGAINST POLIS'S TABOR GRAB In an effort to "fix" a problem government created, fake libertarian Jared Polis has put forth a "fix" that does nothing but take your money and give it back to you a different way. Read about the scam here. Now Advance Colorado has filed suit to stop the ballot initiative and counties are jumping on board to join it. I've got Advance Colorado's Kristi Burton Brown on the show today at 1 to discuss it. Find Advance Colorado by clicking here.

SOMEONE TRIED TO SCAM DAVE THE INTREPID And he's joining me at 2 to talk about what happened to him and I've got another scam that is happening right now involving law enforcement that you need to know about. You can read about that one here.

CAN WE ALL AGREE THAT BAND OF BROTHERS IS THE BEST WAR MOVIE/SERIES EVER MADE? If you haven't seen it, you must. It's the best depiction of war and the relationships between soldiers ever.

SPEAKING OF SCAMS, TRUMP BUCKS IS A BIG ONE Please don't get sucked into the scam about Trump bucks or TRB vouchers or DJT Golden checks because they are a complete scam. Sadly the companies behind this crap are in Colorado. You'd think our AG would be on that, but he's busy virtue signaling about Democratic talking points.

HOW COULD A LIBERTARIAN SIGN THESE BILLS? One of the most fundamental rights we enjoy in this nation is the right to private property. Without it, all other rights fall apart. Now Colorado is attacking the private property rights of landlords in a BIG way and The Gazette has a great editorial about it here. In it they argue that Polis needs to veto all of these bills:

We’ve urged vetoes on three pending bills that stand to make housing less affordable across the state by shifting costs, one way or another, to other renters:
HB 23-1120’s mandate for mediation prior to evictions would slow the turnover of rental units from current tenants who aren’t paying rent to new ones who are able to. The extended period of lost income to landlords would be passed on in rent increases for all units.
Senate Bill 23-184’s cap on minimum income requirements that landlords use to ensure a tenant can afford the rent will end up causing more evictions; a lower income requirement up front will mean more tenants won’t earn enough to cover rent as time goes by.
Warm and fuzzy HB 23-1068’s limit on deposits and fees for pets on a lease would shortchange landlords for the costs they must recover to clean up messes and repair damage left by pets. The difference will get passed on to other tenants.
We must add another bill to the must-veto list for the governor: HB 23-1190.
Incredibly, it gives any Colorado municipality the right of first refusal in purchasing any apartment complex or other multifamily residential property. That’s right; an apartment building owner who puts the property up for sale can be required to sell to city hall regardless of other offers. And, if sued by an advocacy group under one of the complicated bill’s provisions, a landlord could be forced to sell to the city even if the property isn’t for sale.

They are absolutely right. We'll see how libertarian Jared Polis really is if these become law.

XCEL WANTS RATEPAYERS TO PAY FOR CHARGING STATIONS And I'm guessing whatever profits that Xcel makes from these company owned charging stations is going to go to shareholders, not ratepayers. Good news though, there is quite a uproar from other businesses who say it's not fair that Xcel can tap into ratepayers they own via a monopoly granted them by the state for the upfront fees. Xcel made 1.74 BILLION IN PROFITS last year alone. That's up 8.7% from the prior year. They can pay for this themselves. The folks at Xcel have stones the size of cantaloupes to even ask for a penny more.

WHERE IS THE BRAVERY IN DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS? The so-called school safety plan being worked on by the Superintendent is laughable in its cowardice. Rather than taking assertive action, it's kicking the can back and forth between the board and principals when it comes to who gets to decide whether or not school resource officers will return. It's already leaving it up to principals whether or not they want metal detectors or other detection systems which is ridiculous as principals can change at any time. This Superintendent is a coward afraid to make hard decisions that might be unpopular with citizens. This board is full of cowards who are afraid of the same thing. This entire lot is useless and should be fired and replaced with people not afraid to face an angry parent if it means kids can feel some sense of safety at school. What a group of losers running DPS.

THE DENVER AIRPORT IS STILL ENGAGED IN UNFAIR BIDDING PRACTICES And I thought the leadership under Kim Day was the issue, but apparently it goes way deeper than that. After an audit in 2016 exposed the bidding practices that favored one contractor over others for shuttle services, among other contracting issues, the airport says they did all kinds of stuff to fix it. But they fixed nothing. Read about it here. The next mayor has to demand accountability from the airport authority. These audits, as they continue to be ignored, are just throwing good money after bad.

WHY TOYOTA ISN'T ALL IN ON ELECTRIC VEHICLES And one must wonder if US car makers who are all in on EVs are doing this same sort of analysis. According a leaked document from Toyota to dealers, for the same amount of raw materials to build ONE electric car, they can build SIX plug in hybrids or NINETY hybrids instead. They also rightly point out that there simply aren't enough cobalt mines to get the raw materials needed for electric cars. Oh, and how do they get that cobalt? A combination of child labor and slavery. Watch this before you smugly announce your carbon neutrality.

The facts are THERE IS NO CLEAN COBALT. IT DOES NOT EXIST. If you drive an electric car or own a phone with a rechargeable battery child labor likely supplied the cobalt in it. The children of the Congo owe Toyota a big thank you. Here is another article about these dangerous and dirty mines that Democrats say are going to save us.

ABOUT MEN IN WOMEN'S SPORTS This is an interesting thread from Twitter about the difference between strength in men and women. You will not be surprised by the results.

Sort of does away with the notion that a dude who decides he's a girl can compete fairly against actual women. Especially in high school.

LOOK AT THE LEFT WING CITIES WHERE HOME VALUES ARE FALLING Almost all of them are liberal "havens" where things have gone into the crapper. Read the list here.

BUD LIGHT SALES CONTINUE TO DROP LIKE A ROCK As they are down 30% since the ill fated partnership with trans influence Dylan Mulvaney. This will be a whole entire lesson in future marketing classes. Know your demo, people. Know your demo.

ALL WHILE TARGET IS ALL IN ON GOING AFTER KIDS The Target story is getting more interesting, and not just because they've lost 13% market share since their tuck friendly bathing suits hit store shelves. Now people are digging into the stuff they support with real dollars and it isn't pretty. First off is a group called GLSEN which advocates for children to be able to transition at school while hiding it from their parents. Their website has explicit instructions on how to quickly close the site should a parent wander in. They want gender ideology to be steeped into EVERY subject in schools regardless of grade and Target is shoveling them money. Why? Because their VP of Marketing is the Treasurer for the organization. People don't hate gay or trans people until you try to confuse and convince a kid that they are trans when they are not. It's really that simple.

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN A CULTURE VALUES THE ELDERLY This is just lovely.

AND HE DID IT WITHOUT DROPPING THE PIE This dude is a boss.

JUST HOW LONG DO THESE DUMB INTERNET THINGS TAKE ANYWAY? My question is who has this kind of time to do this kind of stuff?
