Authorities in Marion County, Florida, arrested a man claiming to be a time traveler from the future. The Ocala Police Department received a report about a possible burglary after the homeowners reported somebody threw a brick through a window in their home in the middle of the night.

As officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for a possible suspect, they noticed that the front door to another home was open. When the officers entered the house, they encountered Daniel Robert Dinkins. They informed Dinkins they were investigating a possible burglary when he abruptly confessed to the crime.

"That may have been me," Dinkins told them.

He was taken into custody and charged with a felony count of burglary of an occupied dwelling.

Dinkins then claimed that he was a time traveler and was trying to save the family from a future event. He admitted to swimming in the family's pool and throwing the brick through the window.

He told investigators that he did not know a baby was sleeping in the room he tried to break into. He claimed he was attempting to "save the baby from something way in the future when the child is much older."

Dinkins was released on a $15,000 bond.
