President Donald Trump is reported to have a majority unfavorable approval rating in several national polls.

Trump is reported to have a 45.5% average approval rating and 51.8% disapproval rating, for a -6.3 net approval rating, according to Real Clear Polling. The website's tabulated averages include a 44% approval in the latest Economist/YouGov poll; a 45% approval in the Morning Consult poll; a 40% approval in the Reuters/Ipsos poll; a 47% approval in the Quantus Insights poll; a 42% approval in the CBS News poll; a 46% approval in the Harvard-Harris poll; a 42% approval in the I&I/TIPP poll; and a 40% rating in the Pew Research poll.

Trump does, however have a majority 51% approval in the Rasmussen Reports poll; a 51% approval in the RMG Research poll; and a 52% approval in the InsiderAdvantage poll. The president was reported to have a -8.4 net approval rating, according to famed polling expert Nate Silver in the latest edition of his Silver Bulletin Substack released on Monday (October 13).

Trump has reportedly made slight improvement from the -9.3 reported one week prior and the -9.4 two weeks ago, but has dropped since the -7.5 three weeks prior. The president has, however, seen the number of Americans who strongly disapprove of his job performance decrease from its peak of 44% to 42.5%, which is closer to his average for his second term in office.

"To be clear, these are bad results for Trump. His handling of the economy this time around is substantially less popular than his term one approach. But when it comes to overall approval, Trump is still more popular now than he was eight years ago (net -8.4 vs. -16.7)," Silver wrote.
