LET'S TALK ABOUT ARMING TEACHERS AND STAFF I realize this is the most controversial of all security measures at school, but it is the most likely to stop a shooter in their tracks during a school shooting. My friend Laura Carno is on to discuss the FASTER Colorado program, which trains teachers and staff how to safely carry and use a firearm in a active shooter situation at school. It's all volunteer, so no one will ever be forced to carry or arm themselves, but it would give those who want to go through a training an opportunity to protect the kids in their schools. WE KNOW MORE ABOUT THE NASHVILLE SHOOTER And if you think the East High School shooting is going to be dropped fast by the press, this one will disappear even faster. Why? The shooter was a woman who identified as a man. If you want to see exactly how carefully the media protects transgender people, check out this article in the New York Times, where they don't refer to the shooter by gender AT ALL. They do mention that she had been living as a man, but they don't use male pronouns AT ALL. Read this:
There was confusion about the gender identity of the assailant in the immediate aftermath of the attack. Chief Drake said the shooter identified as transgender. Officials used “she” and “her” to refer to the shooter, but, according to a social media post and a LinkedIn profile, the shooter appeared to identify as male in recent months.
And yet NO use of male pronouns even though her LinkedIn profile says she used "he/him". This may seem like a dumb thing to focus on, and frankly it is, but where are the howls of using the "dead name" here? I just want consistency. The DailyMail has more about this shooter here, but it seems she/he held a grudge against the school because she/he had to go there? She/he was 28 years old and still hanging onto a grudge from sixth grade or earlier.
THE VA OFFICIALLY SHOOTS DOWN MEANS TESTING FOR DISABILITY COMPENSATION And this is good news so we can put this all to bed and move on until the next time they try to figure out a way to screw veterans.
TAY TAY GOT BUSTED LYING AND I'M HERE FOR IT Vice President and personal trainwreck Auon'tai Anderson got himself into a pickle by lying about why the Denver Public Schools Board reversed an earlier stupid decision to remove School Resource Officers from Denver schools. Rather than admit it was a mistake, he decided to blame the Mayor's office by saying the Mayor was working on an Executive order. Problem is the Mayor's office says no such thing was ever being considered. And they pushed back HARD. Check out these comments:
"There’s no truth to Director Anderson’s claim," said Mike Strott, the mayor's spokesperson.
"The decision to return SROs to high schools was Superintendent Marrero’s decision alone, which the mayor encouraged and supports, because it’s the right decision," Strott added.
Strott also rejected any insinuation that the mayor bullied the DPS board into reversing its position on SROs.
"At no time did the mayor propose an executive order, nor did he threaten to issue one as an ultimatum if the school board refused to act," he said. "Mayor Hancock does not bully or threaten people. Others may operate that way. He does not."
My favorite part is "Others may operate that way. He does not." I wonder who he was referring to? Probably the School Board member who said, "All you mother f*ckers is corrupt" at a rally. Hint, that was Tay.
A RECALL MAY BE BREWING FOR THE DPS BOARD And I'd be fine with that. Their priorities are stupid and not focused on student achievement. Surely there are better people to fill these roles. Read more here.
THE TEACHERS UNION HAS FINALLY SHOWED UP TO TALK ABOUT DISCIPLINE AT DPS Its all about statistics for DPS and finally the teachers union is asking questions about changes made to the DPS discipline policies. Those discipline policies are allowing students charged with dangerous crimes, including bringing a gun to campus, to allow at school. Read more here.
IN COLORADO CHILDREN CAN CHANGE THEIR GENDER BUT NOT HANDLE A GUN This is the absurdity of the arguments being made about raising the age to purchase a firearm in Colorado. In Colorado school districts in many places have policies in place that allow a child to "socially transition" at school WITHOUT their parents knowledge because we're supposed to "trust" the child to know. But now we've voted to prevent 18 year old people from being able to purchase a firearm. This makes no sense. See my earlier comments about consistency.

MCCARTHY CALLS OUT THE PRESIDENT ON THE DEBT CEILING Apparently the President has refused to negotiate on anything pertaining to the debt ceiling issue that is looming once again. McCarthy sent a letter to the President Biden about why he won't get to work to solve this problem before it becomes a full blown crisis. From CNN.com:
McCarthy writes “with each passing day, I am incredibly concerned that you are putting an already fragile economy in jeopardy by insisting upon your extreme position of refusing to negotiate any meaningful changes to out of control government spending.”
McCarthy also proposed a series of places to start saving money including reclaiming unspent Covid-19 relief funds and strengthening work requirements for social programs.
THIS IS WHY WOMEN DON'T WANT MEN IN THEIR SPACES There is a British woman who goes by the name Posie Parker who has created a maelstrom around herself by simply saying men can't become women and they should be excluded from women's spaces. She recently appeared in New Zealand and this is what happened:

ABOUT THAT ENERGY TRANSITION... This is a great article on the numerous shortcomings of renewable energy and the lies being told around the Beltway about green energy being cheaper. Just look at this part about the hard realities of renewable energy currently:
- The realities of the physics, engineering, and economics of energy systems are independent of any beliefs about climate change.
- Europe, the U.S. and Canada, Australia and the other regions that have pursued power grids with a higher share of wind and solar electricity uniformly have experienced large increases in electricity costs, and even that effect hides the costs of the massive subsidies borne by taxpayers.
- It costs at least $30 to store the energy equivalent of one barrel of oil using lithium batteries, which explains why batteries cannot compensate for the unreliable nature of wind and solar power even for days, let alone weeks. “There is no physics, never mind engineering or economies of scale” that would overcome this cost disadvantage.
- The time cost alone of recharging an electric vehicle makes such vehicles uncompetitive, even apart from the costs of the batteries and other problems.
- The International Energy Agency estimates that only a partial energy transition would require increases in the supplies of lithium, graphite, nickel, and rare earths by 4,200%, 2,500%, 1,900%, and 700%, respectively, by 2040. This staggering problem of materials is “inherent in the nature of SWB technologies,” which means that the cost of unconventional energy will rise even more.
