I WANT REAL SOLUTIONS FOR SCHOOL SAFETY Over the next few weeks I'm going to be interviewing multiple people who have some real solutions that could make our schools much safer. Today is a company called Angel Protection, which you can find here. They offer technological solutions to campus safety, from panic button systems using cell phones to cameras that can spot weapons coming onto campus. DEMOCRATS PASS MORE GUN CONTROL THIS WEEKEND Because all the other gun control isn't working. Democrats steamrolled past the hopeless minority Republicans by using a rule used so little that no one can remember the last time it was used to stop debate. Republicans were outraged and took to Twitter to complain and former State House member Rob Witwer explained to them the facts of the situation.
But I'm sure Dave Williams calling Dems "evil tyrants' in his email beseeching Republicans to protest at the Capitol will work wonders to bring the party back to prominence.
THIS AS ALL THE OTHER BILLS DEMS HAVE PASSED HERE HAVEN'T WORKED This is a really interesting walk down memory lane when it comes to gun control:

YES, THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT TRUMP SANK COLORADO REPUBLICANS And it came in the form of a survey of Unaffiliated voters in Colorado. Dick Wadhams writes about it here, but it's clear that Unaffiliateds hate Trump more than they hate rising crime and homelessness, at least in Colorado. But I'm sure if we just put Tina Peters in charge of something at the GOP it will be fine.
LOCAL GOVERNMENTS NOT HAPPY WITH THE LYING POLIS'S ATTACK ON LOCAL ZONING As well they should be. There is already talk of lawsuits from local municipalities who are right when they say Polis thinks they are "too stupid" to zone their own communities. I'm glad they are fired up and I'm glad they are calling out Mr. Local Control himself about it. Polis only like local control when it's used to stop guns or fracking. There is no other time that I can find.
DU LAW STUDENTS SHOW THEY ARE AFRAID OF CHALLENGING SPEECH This is a complete embarrassment for DU but consistent with the sort of idiocy coming out of law schools around the country. Ilya Shapiro, who I've met several times and is a very nice man, had the nerve to do a speech at DU's law school about free speech in academia, a subject he personally knows much about. After making a series of tweets about Biden's announcement that his Supreme Court justice choice would be a black woman, rather than the best person for the job, he was forced to step down from a new job he hadn't even started yet at Georgetown Law. This was too much for the students at DU's Law school. They demanded he be shut down because he hurt them in some way, but DU said no. They gave these people a place to protest OUTSIDE the event, but threatened the students with big trouble if they acted up in the speech. No word on how many students died from this speech. That was sarcasm. Good for DU and too bad for the communist leaning National Lawyers Guild, which is a horrible anti-free speech outfit determined to shut down any speech they deem to "freedomy". Okay, I just made that last word up.
DID YOU SEE THIS PRINCIPAL CONCERNED ABOUT THE KID FACING ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES? This is a brave principal and I'm sure he's going to be reassigned. From 9News:
Dennis would not identify the student at McAuliffe and 9NEWS has decided not to reveal any specific information about the student other than to say Denver Police believe he was involved in an attempted murder earlier this year. Shortly after learning about the crime, Dennis said he and his staff attempted to convince DPS to let the student perform online classes.That request was denied by the district. He then asked the district to expel the student. That request was also denied. In a document obtained by 9NEWS, the Student Discipline Program Manager said, “As there is no evidence that [the student] was in possession of a firearm on his school grounds or at any other DPS school, the request for an extended suspension and expulsion hearing is denied. Please return the student to school.”
Parents need to know if their kids are going to school with potentially dangerous kids. This seems like one of those instances.

THERE ARE MORE FBI INFORMANTS IN THE PROUD BOYS THAN THERE ARE PROUD BOYS That's the accusation being made by the Defense attorneys for one man being charged with Seditious Treason over his role in the January 6th riot. The prosecution JUST DISCLOSED to the defense attorneys that a woman who had been a part of the defendants family circle was an FBI informant. To be clear, they knew since DECEMBER and JUST decided to let the defense know. But that's not all. It seems the Proud Boys were infested with members who were also ratting out to the FBI about all kinds of stuff. So exactly how many FBI agents were on the ground on January 6th? And are we sure Ray Epps, who instigated people storming the Capitol both the day before and the day of, and still hasn't been charged with anything, isn't with the FBI in some capacity? If this is half as bad as it looks it's really, really bad.
WE ARE LOSING OUR CORE AMERICAN VALUES This survey is super depressing but I hope it's temporary though I fear it's not. Years of anti-American rhetoric in schools has had the intended effect, with more and more young people saying patriotism just isn't important to them. Neither is religion or having kids. The kids thing has gotten annoying, as childless people are making memes about how joyful their quiet brunches are. That's fine, but you are mocking a club you have no clue about. Some 38% of respondents said patriotism was very important to them, and 39% said religion was very important. That was down sharply from when the Journal first asked the question in 1998, when 70% deemed patriotism to be very important, and 62% said so of religion.The share of Americans who say that having children, involvement in their community and hard work are very important values has also fallen. Tolerance for others, deemed very important by 80% of Americans as recently as four years ago, has fallen to 58% since then.
We're losing our country before our eyes and what's going to come next isn't going to be good.
THE MARVEL UNIVERSE'S NEW BAD GUY MAY HAVE BEEN TYPECAST People are coming out of the woodwork now that actor Jonathan Majors has been arrested and charged with some very bad stuff. Two directors have now come forward to say that Majors is a "sociopath" and that a lot of people in the New York theater scene have known this for years. We'll see if Kang the Conquerer makes a return with Majors after all this.

A SCHOOL PRINCIPAL RESIGNS OVER THE STATUE DAVID But it's not quite what it seems. The principal of a charter school was told to resign or be fired after three parents complained about photos the statue David being shown to students. The image of the naked man is shown every year, but the principal failed to follow policies of notification before the unit on the Renaissance was taught. This is being used to bludgeon DeSantis, even though it has nothing to do with anything except one charter school with over protective parents.
