THE MAYOR IS ALMOST OUT OF A JOB And there are a ton of people running to succeed him. I'm not going to ask him who he likes as a successor (that would be improper for him and I'm not doing that) but we are going to talk about their various solutions to the issues he's been trying to deal with as Mayor. WHO KNEW THE MANITOU INCLINE WAS SO CONTROVERSIAL This story is crazy. And I mean nuts. I am pretty sure I shared the story of the woman who set an insane record by doing the Manitou Incline over 1,000 times in a calendar year as a woman. Now she's being accused of harassment and stalking ANOTHER woman who is trying to do 500 laps on the incline in one year. From the Denver Gazette:
In court filings, Sanchez, 46, alleges Geissler on March 5 "yelled in my face in front of a crowd saying that she wants me to break my (expletive) neck, and I better watch my back and be careful she doesn't push me down the Incline stairs." Sanchez went on to claim Geissler acted on those alleged threats, saying Geissler "hit me in the back and caused me to lose my balance and nearly fall down the cliff edge of the stairs." Sanchez added that she was being "stalked and followed in Manitou Springs along the local trails."
In those filings, Sanchez said Geissler also previously signed a document prepared by a local Incline club, agreeing to no contact with Sanchez. Fellow hikers say Geissler broke the agreement soon after.
A judge then granted Sanchez a temporary protective order, signed on the basis of Sanchez's claims "constitut(ing) a credible threat, that an imminent danger exists," according to recent reporting by The Gazette.
Now Chasidey Geissler says all of this is being overblown and that she is the victim of bullying by a group of women who pushed her first. I am honestly stunned when I read stories like this. How can adults not figure out a way to co exist in a public park? Why can't women support other women who set lofty goals? This is just embarrassing and I hope everyone is embarrassed by this. They should be.
WERE YOU A PATIENT OF THE WORLD'S STUPIDEST DENTIST? This is ANOTHER nuts story. An Aurora dentist has now been charged with murdering his wife and he has to be the WORST criminal EVER. Look at the stuff he searched on his office computer, from the Daily Mail:
Search terms included: 'how many grams of pure arsenic will kill a human'; 'Is Arsenic Detectable in Autopsy'; 'Top 5 Undetectable Poisons That Show No Signs of Foul Play'; 'how to make poison,' and 'The Top 10 Deadliest Plants (They Can Kill You).'
Has this guy NEVER watched a single episode of Law and Order? He was also having an affair, and flew his mistress in while his wife was in the hospital after he poisoned her, and ordered MORE poison online AFTER he had already poisoned her. The absolute worst part is there are six children who are without their mother forever who know that their father is a sociopath and an idiot at that. What a horrible story. If you know this family, please take care of those kids in any way you can. They are going to need it.
LESLIE HEROD IS EITHER TOUGH OR OVERLY DEMANDING Depending on who you ask. Some of the people who have worked for her say they were demeaned and made to do stuff of a personal nature on her behalf. Others say she is demanding but they learned a lot from her and value their time in her office. I have to say, as I said on the show before, I am not issuing an opinion on this because I don't know the players involved but I have seen tough female bosses be accused of being unreasonable when they were just tough. I've also never seen a tough male boss subjected to the same level of accusations. She could be tough and these people could just not be well suited a tough boss. As only a handful of people have come forward to complain, this doesn't seem to be the same pattern of behavior of Amy Klobuchar, who is known to throw things at her staff. One thing in this article is worthy of comment, and that is the implication that every complaint against a female boss is without merit. Some of them are. I'm just not sure this one meets that standard.
A CHARTER SCHOOL FOR INDIGENOUS STUDENTS IS CLOSING After lower than expected enrollment and higher than expected costs. This is sad, but I hope the group which put this together continues their mission of helping indigenous kids graduate on time because it is a critical issue for their success. Why not do an after school program instead? I hope they can make it work. This is actually the beauty of the charter system, when schools don't work, they close. Too bad the same isn't true for traditional public schools which fail their students.
DEMOCRATS ARE WORKING ON A HUGE GIFT TO TRIAL LAWYERS Which we know they love because trial lawyers love to give money to Democrats. This one is under the guise of helping disabled people, but all it would do it give trial lawyers carte blanche to file nuisance lawsuits based on small infractions of the Americans With Disabilities Act. To be clear, I want everyone with disabilities to have access to all spaces, but it's been proven that the ADA is consistently abused by a handful of scumbag lawyers who can't practice real law so they extort businesses who have some small violation (one friend with a restaurant was sued because she had hung her toilet paper roll 1.5 inches too high. A lawyer brought a tape measure into her space to measure) with the threat of expensive legislation unless they "settle", which always include a payout even if the business fixes the issue. Now some Colorado Democrats want to make that extortion even easier, though thankfully even some Democrats realize this will destroy some small businesses.
TRUMP IMPLIES THAT DESANTIS IS GAY And it must be driving Trump absolutely nuts that DeSantis won't engage with him directly. Trump saw this comment by Desantis I'm sure. This comment, by the way, is masterful.
So Trump's response on Truth Social (who is on that site anyway) by saying, "oh yeah, well you're gay" or some such taunt. Here's what he said:

"Fighting" claims is not paying a porn star to shut up. Just saying. I think Trump actually believes he didn't bang that porn star, or the other women he banged when various wives were pregnant. He truly believes his own garbage.
FOX NEWS IS NOW TAKING FIRE FROM INSIDE As a Fox News producer has filed suit alleging that Fox News Corporation hired lawyers who coached her to answer questions in her Dominion Voting Systems deposition in a way to obfuscate the truth to protect Fox News. She also alleges an atmosphere of misogyny that was pervasive on the Tucker Carlson Show and in the network overall. I totally believe that second part. She is now suing, though Fox News says she only filed after a poor performance review. Her attorney says she has plenty of documentary evidence of her claims. My guess is they settle this one. They need it to go away. We'll see if she takes the settlement along with an NDA.

It really is comically bad if you know this guy's history. Elected with the help of George Soros's Open Secrets group, he is one of many DAs who refuse to prosecute crime, unless it is politically expedient of course. DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO FORCE YOU TO SELL YOUR HOME TO GOVERNMENT This bill is so bad it seems like a joke. But since Emily Sirota is the sponsor I know it's real because she would be happy to socialize our entire society to meet her ends. As I'm reading it,and you can read it here, it requires owners of multi-family units to offer to sell the property to the government, or a housing authority, or "to any political subdivision" whatever the hell that means. The worst part is the government has two weeks to decide they want it, sixty days to make an offer and then 120 days to close, which means you won't be able to unload your property for SIX MONTHS. What I'm not sure about is if the governmental agency will make an offer similar to what will be gotten on the open market, and if not, who will make up the difference? This is such an attack on private property rights Marx would be proud.
THAT JOB YOU APPLIED FOR COULD BE FAKE Fake in the sense of "they aren't going to fill it" anyway. This article is so infuriating and explains a lot of the stuff I've heard from friends looking for work. Companies list jobs they aren't going to fill for a variety of reasons, including they want to give the impression they are growing, or they are just slow to take down job listings they are no longer going to fill. This is just janky. There are some tips in here for avoiding a ghost job post so it's worth your time to check it out.
