I HAVE SOME VERY SAD NEWS TO SHARE And that is that the longtime friend of the show Charles Harrington Elster has passed away. He has been in a brutal fight with cancer and finally lost his battle. We will be having a tribute to Charles on Friday of this week at 1, but you can read his lovely obituary here. Please say a prayer for his wife Myrna and his two daughters that they are as comforted by his memories as I am.

If you're not familiar, Shen Yun is a performance of music and dance by a large troupe of performers who want to celebrate China BEFORE the Cultural Revolution. It's spectacular and it's in Denver right now. And lest you think you will enriching the Chinese Communist government, rest easy, this is put on by the Falong Gong folks and they are definitely not communists. Y'ALL, A CRIME SPREE IS GONNA KILL MASK WEARING This story made me burst out laughing. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is DEMANDING business owners FORCE people to REMOVE their masks before entering a business. This from the Bloomberg article:
“We are putting out a clear call to all of our shops: Do not allow people to enter the store without taking off their face mask. And then once they’re inside, they can continue to wear it if they so desire to do so,” Adams said Monday in a radio interview on 1010 WINS.
The measure is necessary to help police officers identify suspects who are evading law enforcement by wearing masks while committing crimes, Adams said. The New York City Police Department is also calling for mask removal at stores.
I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this. Yes, it makes me seem petty and small but seriously? Who didn't see this coming?

THE DENVER REAL ESTATE MARKET STILL HAS AN INVENTORY ISSUE And that means it is a GREAT time to sell right now. From the Denver Gazette:
As Denver marches towards its traditionally busy spring season, the average sale price clocked in at $657,921 in February. That's 5.23% higher than January's average and a 1.29% increase year-over-year. The median sales price hit $562,500, up 4.39% from the previous month but down 2.17% from February 2022.
The average days on market of 48 crept up 4.35% from January and a whopping 242% from the February 2022 average days on market. Buyers closed on 2,661 homes in February, up 22.51% month-over-month but down 24.87% year-over-year.
"There are definitely more buyers than homes for sale right now," Usaj said. "What's standing out to me is how quickly things are picking up."

DENVER CITY COUNCILORS WANT TO MAKE TENT CITIES PERMANENT And I'm not talking about homeless encampments set up by homeless people, I'm talking about the tent cities set up and managed by the city. What I find interesting is that as far as I know, none of the "original" tent city locations still exist because the landowners did not renew the lease after the first one ran out. Why? They aren't talking and I think we need an honest answer to that questions before we set more of these up in other neighborhoods. The people who PAY to live in those neighborhoods should have the right to know what may or may not be coming along with these tent cities. This feels like Denver is legalizing a sort of Skid Row to me. It's just not okay for people to live in tents in Denver in my view. Sanctioned or not. The good part of this bill is that it would also allow for tiny home communities within the city, and that is something I can get behind. Not just for homeless people, but what about elderly people? A tiny house block would be perfect for a group of seniors who want to maintain their independence.
CHINA IS WARNING THE US TO CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE When it comes to China. The press conference before a parliamentary session included a lot of veiled threats if we don't stop viewing China as a geopolitical foe. Mmkay, we'll get right on that. When asked if China would ditch the US dollar or Euro as their trade currency with Russia, China demurred and said they would use whatever currency was "efficient, safe, and credible". This matters because if the dollar loses it's status as the world's reserve currency it will spell big trouble for us. I frankly don't know why they haven't done that already. With computers doing all the work now, it would be easy to do direct deals between foreign nations without the dollar.
THE BIDEN ADMIN LOOKS TO TRUMP FOR IMMIGRATION POLICIES It seems the Biden Admin has finally realized there is a huge problem at the southern border and may actually do something about it. The detention of families at the border is once again on the table after Biden stopped doing that after he took office because Trump Bad. Now that we've been overrun by millions of illegal immigrants, most of whom will NOT be granted asylum, the Biden Admin is trying to figure out a way to stop it without securing the border anymore than it already is. It's a clown show in the White House when it comes to immigration.
WILL YOU CALL MOUNT EVANS MOUNT BLUE SKY? Because that's its new name now. Governor Jared Polis approved the name change requested by two Native American groups who say the name Evans pained them because Evans was in charge of the territory when the horrible Sand Creek Massacre happened. I get why they did it, but it will be a full generation before the name sticks. Trust me on this. The Governor has now sent a letter to the Feds requesting the name change be made official.

WHY RELEASING THE JANUARY 6TH TAPES IS IMPORTANT This column takes a scorched earth approach when it comes to pointing out exactly how the Democrats have used January 6th purely for political purposes but it's not entirely wrong. Now that Tucker Carlson has begun releasing footage that shows a different view than what was carefully presented by the Democrat controlled January 6th committee, the Democrats like Adam Schiff (a known and often liar) are spinning and attacking Carlson to try to undermine what the tapes show.
