The Denver Broncos did not sit and watch the trade deadline go by.

Tuesday, the Broncos agreed to trade linebacker Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins for a package that reportedly includes picks and a player.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos are receiving Miami's first-round pick in 2023, the Dolphins 2024 fourth-round draft pick, and running back Chase Edmonds while sending Chubb and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick to Miami.                 .

Chubb, in the last year of his rookie contract, has had a very good start to the 2022 season, with 26 tackles, four tackles for loss, five-and-a-half sacks two forced fumbles and a pass break-up.

The Broncos selected Chubb out of North Carolina State with the fifth overall pick in the 2018 draft.

Chubb leaves the Broncos with 170 tackles and 26 sacks in 49 career games. Injuries limited Chubb to four games in 2019 and seven games last year.

Miami acquired the first-round pick it is trading to Denver from the San Francisco 49ers. Rapoport says Chubb expects to work out a long-term contract with the Dolphins, worth at least $20 million per year.

In a separate deal, the Broncos acquired pass-rusher Jacob Martin and a 2024 fifth-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-round selection in 2024.

KOA Voice of the Broncos spoke about the Chubb trade with Mandy Connell shortly after the news broke on Tuesday.
