Early on, it looked like the Denver Broncos had figured out some things on offense.
But by the end of the Broncos 19-16 overtime loss to the Chargers on Monday night, it was apparent they had not figured out enough.
The Broncos offense dried up in the second half and overtime, gaining only 74 yards on 32 snaps and scoring only three points during that span.
The Broncos defense did enough to keep the Broncos in the game and help them to a win but the offense and special teams did not hold up their end of the bargain.
Return man Montrell Washington muffed a punt with under three minutes to go in overtime and the Chargers recovered at the Broncos 28-yard line. Soon after, Chargers kicker Ductin Hopkins hit a 39-yard field goal to give L.A. the win.
The Broncos have lost three straight games and are 2-4. The Chargers have won three in a row and have a 4-2 record.
