Chaos at the ports

When President Biden announced yesterday that the Port of Los Angeles would start operating 24/7 -- and that right now it only operates weekdays during normal "business hours" -- was I the only one who was shocked that we weren't already 24/7? This change is good, if it happens, but it remains unclear as to whether the rest of the supply chain, especially truck drivers, is adequate to handle the additional goods coming off the ships.
