DURING THE TWO DECADES THE U-S SPENT IN AFGHANISTAN... WOMEN AND GIRLS GAINED NEW RIGHTS THEY DID NOT HAVE WHEN THE TALIBAN WAS IN POWER IN THE LATE 90s. SOME OF THOSE RIGHTS INCLUDED GOING TO SCHOOL... HAVING A JOB... AND TRAVELING WITHOUT AN ESCORT.
BUT NOW... THE TALIBAN IS BACK IN CONTROL OF AFGHANISTAN... AND THAT'S MADE THE FUTURE UNCERTAIN FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS.
WE'RE GETTING INSIGHT.. FROM CU'S DR. JENNIFER FLURI... WHO HAS STUDIED THE RIGHTS AND ROLES OF AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS.
