NEW ELECTION RULES AND GUIDELINES ARE HEADING TO GOVERNOR POLIS'S DESK. LAWMAKERS PASSED SEVERAL BILLS AIMED AT VOTING... INCLUDING THE COLORADO VOTES ACT... WHICH MAKES REGISTERING TO VOTE EASIER AND SETS GUIDELINES FOR RECALL AUDITS AND ELECTION JUDGES. ANOTHER BILL INTRODUCES THE OPTION FOR RANKED-CHOICE VOTING.

-- The Colorado Votes Act makes changesincluding enhancing online voter registration by allowing voters to register with their social security number, requiring Risk-Limiting Audits for recall elections, and establishing rules clarifying that election judges may not wear slogans that support or oppose a particular candidate or ballot measure while at a voting center
-- The Ranked Choice Voting bill allows municipalities to offer ranked choice voting under guidelines set by the Secretary of State's office.
-- The Multilingual Ballot Access billcreates a multilingual hotline at the Secretary of State’s Office for the 2022 general election for voters, offered in languages that are spoken by at least 2,000 Coloradans 18 years-old and over.The bill also requires county clerks to provide a minority language sample ballot, creating even more access for Colorado voters, and requires counties that meet certain criteria to provide ballots in a minority language upon request. This bill helps ensure that every Coloradan who is eligible can access their ballot.
--The Secretary of State’s Office also worked closely with legislators to defeat a number of bills.These bills included provisions to require that every Coloradan in the state physically travel to their county clerk’s office to provide proof of citizenship in order to cast a ballot; roll back vote-by-mail across the state of Colorado; and allow any voter in Colorado to request costly and unnecessary recounts, among other things.
