COVID-19 CASES AND HOSPITALIZATIONS ARE RISING IN MESA COUNTY. 96-PERCENT OF HOSPITAL BEDS IN THE COUNTY ARE TAKEN... AND NEARLY ALL OF THE VENTILATORS IN THE COUNTY ARE IN USE. MESA COUNTY IS ALSO SEEING MORE CASES OF THE COVID-19 VARIANT FIRST SEEN IN INDIA. ONLY 37-PERCENT OF PEOPLE LIVING IN THE COUNTY ARE FULLY VACCINATED.

-- Hospital capacity is at 96%. ICU Beds and Ventilators at about 75%

-- 739 cases reported in the last two weeks. 59 new cases reported on Monday alone.

-- 37% of Mesa County residents are fully vaccinated. 42% have at least one dose.

--There are about 100 cases of the B.1.617.2 variant, which initially was discovered in India, in the county. The strain was first identified in Mesa County a month ago.
