The Broncos opened their 3rd day of the draft adding Safety Caden Sterns from The University of Texas. Sterns has the ability to find the football, as he picked off Big 12 QBs 4 times as a freshman when he was league's "Defensive Freshman" in 2018.

Following his selection to Denver, Sterns said on his Zoom Press Conference with Denver media that while he didn't like sitting around waiting for his name to be called, he dies watch a certain safety to pick-up things from his game, “This whole process gets frustrating, sitting here and waiting. I'm thankful. I'm glad to be a part of the program and to be a Denver Bronco. I look up to [S] Justin Simmons and I watch his film all the time. To be able to learn from him is going to mean a lot. My decision to opt out was based off of the fact that I had a toe injury that I was dealing with. I wanted to get it cleared up and fixed before the Pro Day happened so that teams could see me at 100 percent.”
