IT'S TIME TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT THE BLACKOUT GAME This story today gives me chills because the "blackout" game or "choking" game as it used to be called it back. Now a boy in Aurora is on life support and likely not to live because of it. I have a horrible story about this stupid, idiotic non-game that I am going to share.
SO WHAT'S REALLY IN THE GEORGIA VOTING LAW If you read ANY of the national media right now, you can't find a story about the new Georgia Voter law that was just signed into law without seeing the words "Jim Crow" in the article, if not the headline. First off, let's talk about Jim Crow laws. Jim Crow laws were specifically aimed directly and without any sort of disguise at limiting the opportunities of black people. The specifically named the things that black people could and couldn't do, and where they could and could not go, and where they could and could not sit, eat, congregate and most importantly, vote. Poll taxes were part of the Jim Crow south and were put in place to keep black people from accessing the polls. All this was done by Democrats, by the way. Read more here. So which of those provisions is in the new Georgia bill? None of them. Not a single one. Here is what the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says is in the bill:
Here are key details of Senate Bill 202, approved quickly on Thursday by the Georgia House and Senate and then signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp shortly before 7 p.m.
Absentee ballots would be verified based on driver’s license numbers or other documentation instead of voter signatures.
Ballot drop boxes would only be allowed inside early voting locations and available strictly during business hours.
Weekend voting would be expanded for general elections, with two mandatory Saturdays offered statewide. Counties could also choose to offer early voting on two optional Sundays.
Early voting for runoffs would be reduced to a minimum of one week because runoffs would occur four weeks after general elections.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot would be set 11 days before election day.
Members of the public would be prohibited from distributing food or water to voters waiting in line.
The State Election Board could remove county election boards and replace them with an interim elections manager.
A hotline to report illegal election activities would be set up in the attorney general’s office.
Counties would be required to certify election results within six days, instead of the 10 days currently allowed. Election workers would also be required to count ballots without stopping until they’re finished.
Where is the targeting of Black Americans? You have to assume that black people don't have id or a drivers license, that they can't get to the polls during the week OR during the weekend days for voting, that they can't ask for an absentee ballot 11 days before election day to believe this is Jim Crow and frankly I have a higher opinion of Black people than that. And the stupid "you can't give them water" crap is garbage. The bill says this:
"(a) No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector, nor shall any person solicit signatures for any petition, nor shall any person, other than election officials discharging their duties, establish or set up any tables or booths on any day in which ballots are being cast: (1) Within 150 feet of the outer edge of any building within which a polling place is established; (2) Within any polling place; or
(3) Within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote at any polling place. These restrictions shall not apply to conduct occurring in private offices or areas which cannot be seen or heard by such electors." "(e) This Code section shall not be construed to prohibit a poll officer from distributing materials, as required by law, which are necessary for the purpose of instructing electors or from distributing materials prepared by the Secretary of State which are designed solely for the purpose of encouraging voter participation in the election being conducted or from making available self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote." (emphasis mine)
No person shall solicit votes by passing out food and water. It's THAT FREAKING SIMPLE. And what in the world is the obsession with giving people water??? They can't bring their own drinks??? When in the world did the Founding Fathers write anything about taking care of the most basic needs as people vote? This is insane and infantilizing to an entire race and the Democrats should be ashamed for their posturing on this. Multiple lawsuits have been filed against this new bill and I can't wait to see what the court says.
THE OLYMPIC TRIALS JUST GOT WOKE And the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee just announced that athletes may, during Olympic trials, wear BLM or pro Trans language on their uniforms. They can also kneel for the anthem of the Nation they are competing to represent in the Olympics. I am over this and disgusted. No word yet on if this will be allowed to continue at the real games. I don't know why anyone would kneel for the anthem and then represent the US at the games. I just don't get it. Read more here. NO, THE VACCINES ARE NOT GENE THERAPY AND IT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR DNA I got an email saying that the writer would NOT be getting the vaccine because it is "gene therapy". It is NOT gene therapy. Gene therapy involves a process where broken or defective or disease causing genes are replaced or repaired with new gene sequences. The vaccines do NOT change your DNA. This is not even remotely what the vaccine does. This is a really good article on the history of mRNA research so you can begin to understand how far along this tech was BEFORE the pandemic. Please educate yourself with good sources from doctors and scientists like this one.
