Mandy's Wed Blog: Public Records Need to Be Public!

IF YOU CAN'T GET ACCESS TO RECORDS YOU CAN'T HOLD POWER ACCOUNTABLE And in Colorado government has made it both difficult AND expensive to get access to what are largely digital records. This is insane and Ari Armstrong wrote about it here and now he joins me at 1 to discuss.

THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT ARI IS TALKING ABOUT RIGHT HERE Fees to do an online search of online records just went UP for the CoCourts system. Why? Denver county courts just raised the price of getting access to it's database. Why? They say to pay for infrastructure and IT to run the records department. Don't our tax dollars ALREADY pay for that? If not, why not? I'd like to know.

THERE ARE A BUNCH OF SCUMBAGS IN COLORADO'S JUDICIARY SYSTEM And for some reason, we, the voters, are NOT allowed to know about disciplinary issues within the judiciary, as they are kept quiet. Not so much after this document from a few years ago was made public. LOTS of accusations are made by a woman named Mindy Masias in the document that has been released by someone and it outlines some very damning accusations of not only bad behavior, but blatant cover up after the fact. This needs to be investigated thoroughly and the shroud of secrecy that our judges now enjoy must be ripped down. Read the doc here, but it is a PDF.

THE GUN GRABBER KID IS TRYING TO START A PILLOW COMPANY AND IT'S SORT OF FUNNY But also filled with the misplaced confidence of youth. You see, the now adult person that we're not supposed to engage with on Twitter BECAUSE HE'S JUST A CHILD even though he's an adult has decided that Mike Lindell is SO BAD because he likes Trump that David Hogg is going to topple Mike Lindell's pillow empire by starting his own company. It feels a bit like Mickey Rooney yelling "let's put on a show!" Read the highlights of how this young entrepreneur is doing. Any top tier designers available immediately to make a logo in two hours for 200 bucks? Nah? Good luck, young David!

DEMOCRATS HELL BENT ON FOLLOWING ONE UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACT WITH ANOTHER TO GET TRUMP And this one is so completely far fetched I just can't even. There is a move afoot among Congressional Democrats to use the provision of the 14th Amendment prohibiting people convicted of the crimes of insurrection or giving aid to the enemy from being able to hold Federal office. They plan on unfurling this if Trump is acquitted (as he surely must be) in this impeachment trial. These people have so much Trump living rent free in their heads that they can't move on. This is the section of the Constitution they believe is on their side.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Read it carefully and you'll easily see that this provision only allows them to REMOVE such a prohibition, not inflict it. They can't be this stupid, can they? Don't answer that.

NOW THE WOKE POLICE IS COMING FOR TIPPING And as someone who has been a tipped employee MULTIPLE times in my life and supported myself doing it, this is crap. This writer says that tipping is a legacy of slavery and therefore should have be stopped. No one is making her be a tipped employee. If she doesn't like doing the job of making customers happy, she should teach. Oh wait.... I'll just put this here for her.

THE GOVERNOR IS HELL BENT ON BUILDING ANOTHER RAIL LINE NO ONE WILL USE And the reasoning here is INFURIATING. Listen to this steaming pile of crap:

“This is about fulfilling the existing promises made to taxpayers in 2004,” Polis said of the 0.4% sales tax metro area voters passed more than 16 years ago to fund FasTracks. “It creates a gap in public trust that doesn’t just affect transit.”

Acting like it's beyond the pale to disappoint voters promised certain things in exchange for tax increases is laughable. How many of you voters are disappointed that the GIANT FASTER fee increase didn't fix our roads like promised? Or that marijuana taxes haven't been seen in most schools in the area? Politicians LIE ALL THE TIME to voters to raise taxes. ALL. THE. TIME. So don't give me the giant crocodile tears because RTD, which is probably on the brink of complete insolvency because of covid, needs to pour BILLIONS into a light rail scheme that has been a massive failure so far so your Boulder friends can catch the train to a Rockies game a few times a year. Just shut up, Governor. Just shut up.

CDOT IS BEING RUN SO BADLY WE SHOULD REVOLT And the more they poor mouth while spending a ridiculous sum on outside consultants, the angrier we should be. Jon Caldara writes about it here. Not one thin dime should go to CDOT until there is a massive audit and heads roll. Period.

AUNT JEMIMA HAS A NEW NAME AND IT ISN'T VERY GOOD In a nod to the company who first made pancake mix back in days of yore, the geniuses at Quaker Oats came up with...Pearl Milling Company. Lame.

MARK CUBAN DECIDED TO STOP PLAYING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM BEFORE MAVERICKS GAMES And he's entirely within his rights according to the NBA Rules to do so. He's being criticized by the Right, applauded by the Left, but the thing that sticks out the most to me is they went THIRTEEN games before anyone noticed! So how married are we to an anthem before sporting events, REALLY???

PART TWO OF WHY SOCIALISM SUCKS BY JOHN STOSSEL

THIS IS ONE NAUGHTY BEAVER And I mean an actual beaver, you dirty minded person you.

DAD ISN'T HELPFUL WHEN SON TELLS HIM WHAT HE TOLD HIS GIRLFRIEND

I CRIED WATCHING THIS YESTERDAY And we have all been this lawyer. But he's not a cat, fyi.
