Mandy's Thu Blog: I Have an Idea for Any Future Debates

TODAY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INITIATIVE And I've got Trent Englund from Oklahoma who has been working against this nationally, and former Republican State Senator Ray Haynes of California who thinks you should vote yes on this. They are both on at 1.

THE AURORA COP WHO JUST RESIGNED JOINS ME AT 1:30 Dave Cernich was a Lieutenant in the Aurora PD until this week, when he turned in his resignation and sent a scathing letter to the Aurora City Council. We'll hear from him today.

LAST NIGHT'S DEBATE WAS REFRESHING AND IRRITATING First off, hats off to both candidates for conducting themselves in a presidential fashion. BUT, I have an idea for any future debates. They have to swear an oath to abide by the debate rules at the beginning of the debate. As in hand on a Bible type swearing. Both candidates wear shock collars. If they go longer than their allowed time, zap them. If they REFUSE to answer the question, zap them. I was VERY irritated by both candidates for not just answering the damn questions. I think both candidates did well enough to make their supporters very happy. Frank Luntz's focus group of undecideds gave the night to Pence. Watch it here if you want.

BIDEN WAS AGAINST FRACKING BEFORE HE WAS FOR IT And he's flipped HARD on this issue. He spent the primary saying he'd ban it, but now Harris is trying to say that the Biden campaign OF COURSE would not ban it. Pence made a point of this last night.

IT IS A MISTAKE FOR TRUMP TO SAY HE WON'T DEBATE AGAIN VIRTUALLY President Trump's first debate performance was a disaster. Biden wasn't much better, but now that the Non-Partisan Commission on Presidential Debates says the next debates are going to be virtual, Biden is in. Trump says no. This is not a good choice. He needs to take another swing at Biden, virtual or not. We'll see if he changes his mind, which we all know could happen nine times before the debate.

SWEDEN WAS RIGHT AND NOW THERE IS A PETITION TO COPY THEIR STRATEGY WORLDWIDE And it's called the Great Barrington Declaration and you can actually sign it by clicking here. I already did. It has already been signed by over 13,400 medical professionals and was written by doctors of epidemiology and microbiology and vaccine development and so many other specialties. It is a full scale revolt against the current covid policies being utilized by governments around the world. This is part of what it says about lockdowns:

Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.
Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.
As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e. the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.
The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.
...
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.

Check out the list of experts who have signed this. Listen to experts they say! Alright, I am.

THE COUPLE BEING HARASSED BY THE ST LOUIS DA HAS BEEN PROMISED A PARDON FROM THE GOVERNOR OF MISSOURI And this sounds great, but what about the small fortune they are going to spend defending themselves against the scurrilous charges relating from them defending their homes from a mob of protesters. They didn't fire the weapons and one was inoperable, but this hasn't stopped the gun hating DA from pursuing charges against them. It would be nice if there were some way to rein in that DA before they are out a fortune for nothing.

ARE YOU HAVING A HOLIDAY PARTY? WILL YOU BE TAKING TEMPS AS PEOPLE WALK IN? I am currently in the process of planning my annual Christmas party at my home. It's always a humdinger and tons of people come. This year is a wild card though, as I am letting people know that masks are welcome but not required. I will also let them know that many people will be there in relatively close quarters. But that's it. I trust my friends and family to make their own choices about how to proceed. But a new survey says that 30% of people will be taking the temperature of their guests before they let them in the house. Their prerogative, but why have a gathering at your home if you are that concerned?

APPLE IS GOING TO WARN YOU THAT THEIR SECURITY HAS FAILED Seriously, that's what the new "green dot" on IPhones means really. The dot is supposed to notify you when some app opens up your camera without your permission to spy on you. Why would you need this if Apple did it's job in the first place? Just a thought.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CANDY? IT PROBABLY DEPENDS ON YOUR AGE Regardless of age, we all love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers and Kit Kat. The similarities end here. I am only SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU to find out that the youngsters of Gen Z voted CANDY CORN into their top 5! What have we done to our youth???

ABOUT THE RETENTION OF JUDGES The Denver Post has some helpful information about what you need to know about retaining judges. I would love to bounce the entire Supreme Court but then Governor Jared Polis gets to fill those seats so I'm retaining everyone.

AND NOW A POLITE KITTY WANTS PETS Jinx does this, but her paw weighs like 15 pounds so it's a much different experience.

Y'ALL THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I LOOK WHEN THIS SONG COMES ON Okay, no afro, but this is my jam and this is legit how I dance. Mostly to embarrass The Q.

AND NOW SOME EXTREMELY FANCY COWS Because why not.
