A new bill has been introduced at the State Capitol to create the Colorado Health Insurance Option. The option would be a public-private partnership to create more affordable health insurance while also giving many rural Coloradans more choices for health insurance.
The option would use existing state infrastructure to lower costs while offering insurance through private companies. Supporters claim it could lower health insurance costs by 20 percent.
Earlier in the legislative session, a bill to create a state run insurance option lost key supporters needed to move forward.
