Bill On Vacated Evictions Moves Forward

A bill that would protect renters is heading to the state Senate. The House gave its approval to the measure yesterday which would prevent people from being discriminated against for vacated evictions. Those are actions that are filed but eventually dismissed for either being retaliatory or unfounded. The eviction filings can stay on the public record. The bill would suppress those court records until evictions are final, and remove those which are dismissed.
