Police Shoot, Kill Man after Standoff

Lakewood police say they shot and killed a suspected bank robber at a motel early Sunday morning. Police say they located Thomas Snyder, 52, at the motel on an I-70 frontage road near Kipling. Police say after a two-hour standoff, a SWAT team forced its way into the room, where Snyder was holding a handgun that he refused to drop.

The man died at the scene.

Snyder was suspected of stealing a car Saturday, then robbing a bank in Longmont.
