See ya 2019, Don't Let the Door Hit Ya Where the Good Lord Split Ya!

IT'S TIME TO SCRAPE OFF THIS YEAR AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE! And I've got the requisite end of the year stories for you plus some new stuff.

I CARE LESS ABOUT OUR RESPONSE THAN I DO THE CRAPPY IRAQI FORCES Our embassy was attacked in Baghdad this morning. President Trump is promising that Iran will pay for the Iran-backed attack. I really don't care about that. What I care about is WHERE THE EVER LOVING HELL WERE THE IRAQI FORCES TO HELP US? I get that some Iraqis who are more sympathetic to their own kind in Iran would hate our continued presence. What I don't get is that after how many year, how many LIVES lost, how much money Americans have paid for this godforsaken craphole of a country to have a chance at freedom, we don't even KNOW IF THE IRAQI FORCES LET THE MILITIAMEN THROUGH. From the Daily Mail:

Baghdad had warned the American government that relations with the US were at risk following the airstrikes. There are also concerns over whether Iraqi forces allowed protesters to reach the Embassy, located in a usually restricted area.

This is the final straw for me. Pull every service member out and let the place go to hell for all I care. Screw these aholes. If you really want you head to explode, read this coverage from Memri.org about the initial attack. Here is my favorite part:

Iraq's political echelons condemned the U.S. attack; members of Parliament representing the militias even called for "eye for an eye" retribution. Hizbullah in Lebanon also condemned the attack; an announcement by the organization stated that "there is no escape from the fact that those who made the decision to carry out this criminal act of aggression will soon discover the stupidity, results, and ramifications of this decision."

So now the GOVERNMENT of IRAQ, which we helped CREATE, is giving us crap about retaliating for a missiles strikes on our bases? No thank you. They can go eff themselves.

LET'S TALK YEAR IN REVIEW FOR COLORADO POLITICS And I've invited my friend and Queen of Political Snark Kelly Maher on with me at 1 to discuss how this last year went and what we can expect coming up this year (spoiler alert: a lot of things to raise our taxes). Find her totally non politics related but super cool lifestyle blog by clicking here.

ENJOY YOUR TABOR TAX REFUND! Because the state took in SO MUCH MONEY that for the first time EVER the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights will force them to reduce the income tax rate in the state. It won't be much, but IT'S YOUR MONEY. Keep and enjoy it. And remember this when the politicians tell us they don't have enough of our money to pay for the wildly expensive programs.

WELL THIS DIDN'T AGE WELL Months before a shooter was killed in a church before he could kill more than two parishioners, Joe Biden weighed in on Governor Greg Abbott's decision to sign a law allowing people to carry weapons in places of worship. This is what he said.

ARE YOU MAKING RESOLUTIONS? I've got some suggestions. I think resolutions are good in the sense that they create mindfulness about something you've obviously deemed important, but don't make them so unattainable that you set yourself up for failure. Trust me, I know about how that works.

I GAVE UP BUFFETS A WHILE AGO FOR MY HEALTH AND NOW I'M GIVING THEM UP AGAIN BECAUSE OH MY GOD GROSSNESS Just click here.

LOOKING FOR SOME NEW COOL APPS? I've got a list of the best of 2019 right here.

WANT TO ADD COOL FOOD SUPERSTITIONS IN THE NEW YEAR? I've got a whole bunch of them here but let's be real, you only need pork, black eyed peas and greens to insure wealth and prosperity in the new year. I've already got all three ready to at my house. The rest of these are just silly superstitions. Right?

FEELING ANXIOUS? YOU COULD NEED MORE DEEP SLEEP And I love that we're finding all this stuff out about how important sleep is for us. I've committed to going to bed at a reasonable hour this year to test this theory. Not sure it will work, but I'm gonna try. We now know that deep sleep is when our brain does it's resetting of stress and anxiety and if you don't get enough, you will always feel harried and awful. How is your sleep these days? More importantly, how is your teenager sleeping these days? Could the rise in anxiety disorders be related to the lack of sleep we all suffer from? The answer seems to be a solid yes.

BISHOP UPSET THAT HOMELESS PEOPLE HE FED AND CLOTHED ARE TAKING OVER OUTSIDE HIS CHURCH I don't want to make this Bishop feel bad, but when he says this, I have to comment:

“I’ve been involved with feeding the homeless and clothing the homeless,” he said. “That’s been one of our ministries, so I have an appreciation for the homeless. What I don’t have an appreciation for is when you take over public property.”

The problem is now the urban outdoorsman have moved from the park across the street (also public property, I might add) to the sidewalk outside his church. And I am positive that the kind Bishop makes NO connection between his kindness in feeding and clothing people who chose to live outside and the fact they have made his life miserable by cutting off his ability to park his car at his church. I hate to say it, but when it comes to the chronically homeless, no good deed goes unpunished. My favorite part of this story is when the homeless guy tells the Bishop he just needs to park further away.

PLANNING ON GETTING SMASHED TONIGHT? READ THIS FIRST As it's a column on the fallacy of hangover cures and suggestions for a safe NYE with the least painful New Year's Day.

2019 IS QUITTING And here's a silly video about it.
