Polis Pardons Undocumented Woman Taking Sanctuary In Church

Governor Polis is granting a pardon to an undocumented immigrant who has taken up sanctuary in a Boulder church to avoid deportation. Ingrid Encalada Latorre had been convicted of felony impersonation in 2010. Polis says since then she has paid restitution and back taxes, and currently tries to educate others on the risks of using false documents. While he can't do anything about her immigration status, the governor says he hopes the conviction would no longer have an impact. Latorre was one of five people pardoned yesterday. Three others were granted clemency.
