He took the unlikeliest of athletic paths. He was born in Iran, where his father worked for The Shah, until that government was overthrown. At age three, he and his family moved to the U.S. He fell in love with sports and eventually found himself playing Division I football at Colorado State. He renounced his Muslim religion and today, among other things, he is the chaplain for the Denver Broncos.
